what i'm gonna say is a little 18+ so please read with discretion I saw on twitter that the meaning of this song actually refers to sexual act (more specifically a "handjob"). the meaning that google guves of whiplash is "a neck inhury due to forceful, rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck, licke the cracking of a whip" so, yes, this sounds like it could apply to sexual act, so if you read the lyrics with that in mind, akthough it sounds muchc more mature, it makes more sense but if you want you can just take the song as the innocence and excitement of little things in youthful love i hope i didn't ruin the song for you
