COLOR SEPARATE GRAPHICS USING HALFTONE DIFFUSION! (PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL)

In this tutorial I show ya a method I came up with to color separate graphics in Photoshop by using my Halftone Diffusion Pack and a little creative thinking. By isolating the different tonal values of our image, we can apply effects to them individually and color them how we'd like. Not only is this a blessing for your screen-printer, it also just looks super sick and can be implemented on a wide range of graphics.

Been using this for all my designs for about 6 months now, has helped a lot. I've recently ran into an issue that everytime I run specifically the 3rd RXN one, it crashes everytime and haven't found a fix to this day

Hey man, love this effect pack and video. Just quick question. I think I followed along with every step and got every action done for specular, highlights, midtones, and shadows. The end product is just a checkerboard background with the subjects faces showing. Do I need to add black background/overlay to a layer so this action works better? Would love to talk this over because the project I'm working is BEGGING for this halftone look!

if we wanted to use this for screenprinting, how would you get the "blacked out version" of each layer for the screen? (hope that makes sense)

If you’re making the screens yourself I’m not so sure - my knowledge stops at preparing the file to send to a printer. I usually magic wand out the colors in the design and put them on separate layers to send to the printer as a PSD. Don’t know too much what goes on after that.

yo whenever i apply to action to the image and hit continue and stuff the pattern that pops up are tree leaves and the half tone thing looks terrible, how can i get the pattern style that you have in the tutorial? please respond asap

Are you sure you installed the patterns file correctly? There’s an installation guide in the download, make sure you follow that through. And also make sure the workspace you’re working in is 300DPI.
