Nice videos, guys! Watching them all as we go there (from Ohio) in two weeks.

@@TriStateOverland Thanks! I can't wait to see your videos! Hopefully, the fall color is popping when you're here, Telluride should be gorgeous this year.

We went from Lake city to Engineer Pass/Animas Forks/Silverton on morning….. Beautiful scenery. Roads were in bad shape from heavy rains about a week before….

Did the same route back in the fall and it was great. That last switchback coming off Cinnamon at the Engineer Pass / Animas Forks junction was the only part where I felt uncomfortable, as it is very sloped and there was no room for error.

Thank you for sharing, well done. I have a 2020 TRD Taco that I re-geared with the 5.29 and with the MT six speed never had to use a pedal when going down. I too have the Fox adjustable 2.5's and Icon leaf springs - love that set-up. I was just there running the trails with the RM Toyota Roundup. I haven't run those trails in 22 years and boy was I surprised at the amount of traffic on each of the trails - almost needed a traffic cop. Animas Forks was packed and had to park down the hill due to all the traffic. You came at a good time. Thanks again.

Could a sierra 1500 make this trip
@mikechandler37912 ай бұрын
@@Robert_alea I have seen full-size trucks on most of the routes. The only one I would not suggest is Black Bear, you could do it but the switch backs on the back end are extremely tight - 4-5 point turns and with a full size I would suggest a spotter on the switch backs. The BLM and sheriff have issued a warning for BB for wheelbase size. If you haven't run any of those trails I suggest reviewing Trails Offroad and selecting a few of the easier passes first to get some experience under your belt before taking on the more difficult (harder passes).

Ok this is the best footage I’ve seen of cinnamon pass. We’ve watched many vids on it and none have shown the rocky points and narrow areas like you’ve shown. Very much appreciate the detailed view of this trail.

@@HappyPlaceCamping Wow, thank you! We are going on Imogene soon, hopefully we do it justice!

@@BigAltitude970 We kind of want to do Imogene, but think I'm chickening out. I have a slight fear of heights, but a bigger fear of falling. And I just can't get that narrow one lane road next to the ledge out of my head lol. I just don't think I'm ready to take it on. I want more experience. But I do look forward to seeing your video on it. Maybe it will change my mind. Or reaffirm my decision to get more experience first 😆

Are there campsites/side roads along the Alpine Loop? I'm wanting to camp up there and not run the entire trial in a day.
@BigAltitude9703 ай бұрын
@@Recovering_Californian At the base of Cinnamon Pass there are sites, there are a bunch west of Lake San Cristobal. There aren't any at Animas Forks, you have to finish one Pass, camp near Silverton then run the next one.

@@BigAltitude970There are a couple pay campgrounds between Cinnamon Pass and Lake City, and many free sites just off the road
@BigAltitude9703 ай бұрын
We just saw that there are a few campsites outside of Animas Forks, it would be very limited.
