Colorado was in a 5-wide air raid offense practically the entire game. No motion in the back field, no use the tight ends, no reverses, screen passes, qb keeps. The offensive schemes were predictable and if CU continues using this offense, opposing teams will begin to tee off on Shedeur and the sacks will start to mount.

The reality is they could have kept with the run to please the critics. However, they would have lost the game to running down the clock faster, getting the ball less, and less scoring. They played to NDSU weaker secondary as CU's WR'ers were getting open. It's the season opener and all need to relax.EVERYONE, AND I MEAN EVERYONE knows that CU can throw the ball. If they want to win, they will need to run in many up coming games, EVERYONE IN BOULDER, and EVERYONE else knows this. I guarantee they will look different in the two upcoming road rivalry games.

I agree, they don’t huddle or Run the ball with a lead blocker enough and the quick offense is sometimes a curse because three and outs lead to the defense being on the field a lot. They need to mix up the offense some with some running formations instead of pass, pass and more pass

Good video. thanks for making it. I've been critical of CUs (lack of a) running game. In fairness, those quick screens in the flat to JH05 & LW10 could be considered running plays. I'd still like to see more. They could move TB56 back inside to RG to get more push. KB67, PK71, or ZO74 could replace TB56 at RT. Kardell Thomas KT65 could provide more push than JM66 at LG. HZ58 seems to be getting better at OC. CU can win 5-6 games w/what they're doing, but they won't win more without a real running game. thoughts?

That first "good" play where Bentley makes contact in the backfield @ 19 yard line, but runner gains additional 4 yards after contact. It started out great, but ended below average.

CP likes to say that they apply pressure…well the Defense was totally reactive. They did not dictate terms to NDSU offense because CU defense didn’t recognize ndsu sets on pre snap….CU didn’t do enough verbal communication…..I should expect for Travis Hunter to recognize pre snap alignment and call it out…But I don’t noticed much of that. They didn’t callout the picks…they didn’t call for possible switch. They didn’t say enough on defense to be truly top notch.

Thanks for your analysis Coach Hayes. I was looking for film to see how both lines played. #67 didn't play his best game. He has to be better and I think he will. We will see. The whole offensive line didn't play well. BUT they were not terrible!! And they were better than last year, in my opinion. AND its just the first game. It looks like they have the ability to improve b/c there is plenty of room for improvement. I think they can and will be better. There is plenty of things to work on. Young Jordan #77, looks like he can get better, he was just getting his feet wet,. I expect him to be better. They all (OL and DL) look like they may have had first game jetters and they just need to settle in. The coaching staff has plenty of film to teach from. I think they will get better. Final point: They need to remember its a team. On a team, everyone can not be a superstar. First and foremost everyone needs to do their job. Everyone has a role to play. Some of the bonehead plays were just players doing too much. If the team wins they all win. Some will get more shine than others, but thats how the team dynamic works. Ego's need to be checked. This might be the problem with trying to build a team through the portal. Sacrificing getting yours for us getting ours.

Should be a good matchup vs Tommi Hill and Banks next week.

There is no way that coach Prime would reveal their entire offensive plays in their first game against a non conference opponent and then have a rival conference opponent in Nebraska at Nebraska the next week. They displayed enough to win in a scare, but Nebraska is a bigger game, if that is possible for a Coach Prime team when all games are must win as far as everyone is concerned. I doubt the Colorado defense had a abbreviated defensive game plan and they played less than desired early in the game but improved over course of the game. The question for Colorado in the Nebraska game and the rest of the season for that matter is whether the Colorado offense can continue to score the team out of trouble until this practically new defense jell together as a unit or repeat what happened last year.
