That's due to scheme and willingness to run the ball. There was no concerted effort to run the ball.... just two seasons of stat padding for Shadeur. Let's be realistic. Great great assessment..as usual 🦅🔍🚶🏾
@christinejones790221 күн бұрын
The OL didn't improve much. BYU exposed them big time. Even Jordan Seaton has been skating by for weeks, getting all those penalties. And nobody on CU team for OL was disciplined last night. Every time one of BYUs DL shifted, CU got penalties for false starts. I think Jimmy Horn shouldn't played last night. And that Weaver seemed distracted, jogging routes. If I saw these things, I know NFL scouts saw it. Weaver hadn't helped CU get a 1st down on 4th down all season. I say that punt that in first quarter and maybe outcome a little different. Also, second time they went for it on 4th down, Coach Prime should've allowed Mata to kick a field goal and get his record. Instead, Mata ends up 1 kick away from breaking a record. Some gonna be disappointed come draft night when they at free agency, getting a call to be only given practice squad opportunities, if that. Practice squad not a bad thing. Many players won't see it that way.
@suzettesargeant21 күн бұрын
CU basically ran into BYU being BYU. For those who have followed college fb for a while know that BYU has always had a good program and reputation for being as such. The only wish was that the CU oc could’ve adjusted the play calling to make getting down the field a little easier. Just my opinion.

@@suzettesargeant clearly that wasn't his play calling every drive they had tried to air it out in they didn't run the ball to get pressure off the oline and qb they stated mulitple times I well of videos they was trying to get single players stats better so they can prove there draft worthy particularly jimmy horn and will Shepard that whole offense was literally a two man show travis hunter and shedaur we already know what travis can do but I wanna know what shedaur can do with no real wr1s he's been carried all yr by travis and lajohntay western ect he under thrown so many tds its ridiculous he holds on to the ball like he can get outta pressure like he's Lamar Jackson I understand he has a iffy oline but try to stay in the pocket as long as possible and get the ball outta your hands with mesh routes he would be good in the league with a good oline he would be like a Joe. All they wanted was to stat pad a few players stats which is selfish for the whole team.

@@Americaisgreat12 bro you have some very valid points. I was at the game last night and it was obvious they were trying to force Jimmy the ball. I’m from Ga and I’ve been following Juju. @ I think you just answered my observation of the OC adjusting with what you stated at the beginning. But if this was about stats for certain players then the idea of playing in a bowl game should have gone to another team. That’s not what any team is or should be thinking when it comes to bowl games. You do what it takes to win the game. In all honesty I think CU wasn’t ready for a team like BYU. I think coach prime knows that they’re STILL “coming!” They haven’t arrived yet!!! At least that’s what I see… Having gone and been an athlete in the SEC years ago, I can tell you they’re still building. Again, my opinion.

We need to be HONEST about DEION Sanders. WHY was BYU so much better prepared for this BOWL game than CU was? FACT: Coach Prime has only won 1 out of his last three bowl games going back to Jackson state. FACT: The responsibility for for having your team prepared falls on the head coach. Yes, there is an OC and DC, but they answer to the head coach. FACT: As terrible as CU was before Coach Prime took over, the run game was actually much better. CU has had great to very good RBs in the past. FACT: Lack of any type of consistent meaningful run game is a problem. Passing wins games, but a run game WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Any credible coach will admit to this. FACT: Severe lack of TEAM DISCIPLINE. Colorado ends the 2024 season as the most penalized team in the BIG 12. WHAT WE DON'T KNOW We don't know if (OC Shurmur) was just calling plays to pad Shedeur stats and make him happy VS having terrible running backs and a really bad run blocking OL. In games where CU made an a decent effort to run the ball, the RB's were not world beaters, but they ran well enough to take pressure of of Shedeur. PROS: 1. Deion is GREAT at promoting and getting media exposure. 2. DEION has a done a VERY GOOD JOB at getting better players through the portal and some out of HS. CONS: 1. Deion is NOT good at clock management. 2. Deion is NOT good at having his team prepared in BOWL games. 3. An inadequate emphasis put on the importance of a solid run game.
@kaizersozzay925921 күн бұрын
Deion has ZERO wins in bowl games. Deion has also been caught on video changing screens and run plays to 4 vert long passes. Abandoning the run game is 100% on Deion. Once this year did they fully commit to running the ball. And it happened after Shurmur screamed about it in a team meeting. Ironically, it was the best offensive performance by CU all season. Shedeur and Travis didn’t get their 300+ or 100+ stats and they didn’t do it again. Look at last night. Micah only got 5 carries. He was averaging 5 yards a carry. FIVE! And they still abandoned the run game. I don’t care what anyone says. This repeated abandonment is why the RB’s have taken off.

Colorado supported all year that the team couldn’t win the hard games needed. Every big game was a loss. They truly had bad coaches and a bad offensive line

Offensive line coach... Get blocking tight ends... Get fullback... Bigger defensive line... Bigger mor athletic linebackers... Strong safety...

A more creative OC would be great to mesh with the skill guys!

It's for the best. The line was terrible last night. They never seemed to adjust on the oline.

Loadholt is a tough loss

It’s the nature of the business. However it says that they obviously don’t believe in what Coach Prime is preaching. Colorado is not for everyone! Prime better hire coaches who believe in his vision and will remain loyal. When recruits see coaches leaving voluntarily it sends the message that if they don’t believe and commit why should I?!

Is Colorado going to get some new and better coaches?

Damn the Dancey fade is leaving!?!?

Perhaps this change in coaching from Loadholt goes a way towards explaining the extraordinarily poor OL play last night. That line was straight cheeks against even three-man defensive fronts.

I don't think Dancy was a big part of the defense improving and I was hoping Loadholt would be replaced 🤷🏾♀️ but now the comment about Coach Prime talking about you either get elevated or terminated at the press conference after the game makes sense.

If you don't focus on running the ball you can't make it to the playoffs or when a championship just on passing the ball Phil blocked for a 2000 Yard rushing back in the NFL which only happened 9 times in NFL history Adding Barkley of the Eagles this season.. Pass blocking all day does not work

Not good, dang, this will hurt recruiting and I expect players to follow these coaches

CP , put a lot on the line for Sapp, because Colorado, got a lot of pushback for hiring Sapp, due to his background. Colorado is already paying Sapp 150 K , for a position that typically pays 50k. CP , has been helping Sapp, for years, so I don't know where the limit is.

Why was they allowed to coach when he said transfers weren't allowed to stay around the team because it was like "they were using them"... His own words❗️

Coach Livingston is next to go. Shurmer hinted that Livingston might be a head coach somewhere next season.
@mkingadiffernce21 күн бұрын
Livingston is not going anywhere he loves it in boulder with his family and he came from the nfl I don’t think he’s interested in coaching college. Coaches like him don’t go backwards they go up!

Maybe they should start paying their coaches like coach prime instead of paying it cheap

Defensive line coach if possible would be great to get Bo Palini. Great Defensive coach. Not good as head coach. Defense would be put together right.
