For another ride you may want to consider Hwy 149 south off of Hwy 50 west of Gunnison. This is a spectacular ride down to Lake City, CO. An excellent motorcycle road and very beautiful in the fall when the Aspens are changing. Also Torrey, UT to Hanksville, UT on Hwy 24. Leave about an hour before sunset and that golden hour of sunlight striking to massive red sandstone formations along the way is simply magical!!!

David Ross thank you! I’m currently scratching out a trip route back through CO and across southern Utah - fingers crossed to do it this year. I’ll be looking up your suggestions and will see about adding them if I haven’t included them already. 👍

@@Tiger993 You can't go wrong with either of those two rides. On a separate note I was looking into those Delkevic Tri -Oval Exhausts and they make quite a few styles and lengths for the FJR1300. Just wondering which ones you installed on your bike? I like the throaty exhaust note but I'm not looking for anything too obnoxiously loud. Not cool when you're staying in a quiet campground in RMNP.

David Ross I went with the stainless 17” tri-oval. I never ran them with the baffles installed either, so they can actually quiet down a little more from what you hear in the video. They are very neighbor friendly even with the baffles out. I’ve got them up for sale so let me know if you’d like more details. I needed to get down to two bikes in the garage so I sold the FJR 😢

@@Tiger993 I sold my '07 FJR and replaced it with the 2014 non-ES model. I couldn't say no to heated grips and factory cruise control. If the kit you have has the correct fitment for the 2014 model year please provide me with more details. 👍

Great videos! Where did you camp out on this leg?
@Tiger9935 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you liked them. The campground at the beginning of this video was Lodgepole Campground adjacent to the Taylor River. Here's the Lat/Long: 38.761130, -106.663364. It was my favorite of the campgrounds I camped in! Loved the pines, the river, and the scenery.

Where is the placement of your microphone. Voice sound quality is great, no wind noise, plus you can plainly hear the sweet exhaust note of your motorcycle.
@Tiger9935 жыл бұрын
For the Colorado trip, the mic was taped to the interior helmet chin bar, not directly in front of the mouth, but 1-2 inches to one side. A couple more notes: the bike has a pretty good sized windshield which helps reduce wind noise, and I was also using the helmet chin curtain which also lowers drafts inside the helmet and may have helped the audio.

Thanks...I'm just trying to get some tips for when I go on my western voyage. Your videos are awesome.

@@johnF56 Glad to help, and I'm glad you like the videos! If you are new to the whole moto video thing, the best advice I can give you is to get your camera/helmet/mic setup installed and then test the heck out of it BEFORE your trip to get any kinks worked out. And something I learned the hard way is to carry a spare (or 3) of any audio cable or adapter you use in your recording setup. I was on a trip to the U.P. of Michigan once and my audio cable failed on day 2. Not only did I not have a spare cable, but I was not even aware the cable had failed. I came home with four days of video footage, three of which had no audio. That was a horrible feeling. So now I carry spares and at the end of each day on the road, I will "spot check" a couple of the video files to make sure the audio is being recorded. Where are you headed on your upcoming trip?

Good advice. I have taken plenty of photographs on my bike trips, but have never video'd (sp) them. I was thinking I'd like to give it a try. What is the make of your set up?

I have two cameras, a GoPro Hero 3+ and a Sony 3000.
