This idea that we should "feel safe" outside in the wild is so ignorant and irritating. What makes this woman think she and her kids should be able to be free from harm from nature EVEN IN THE COUNTRY?! If she wanted to be safe from wild animals while outside, she needs to move back to the city and visit the park.

That woman is in no danger from wolves. Researchers take wolf pups out of dens to weigh and tag them, and the adult wolves just hover anxiously around the perimeter. There are 17,000-20,000 black bears and 3,000-7,000 mountain lions in Colorado, and she’s only scared of wolves?

These wolves came from indigenous tribal lands in Canada. they were the only people that would give us wolves. So let's hope that they had a hand in capturing the wolves! 🐺🐺🐺 I do know it is a pack. I have been closely following this whole development since I voted for it. The last pack that we got from Washington state was made of troubled individuals (still a pack), and had negative human- wolf interactions. That might be why all but three of them died, Besides someone shot the alpha male very soon after they landed.

Wolves are part of nature and a healthy ecosystem in these areas and ranchers need to accept that. There are tools available to ranchers-other than guns-to mitigate predators killing livestock. Ranchers know culling wildlife because they are an inconvenience is primitive and greedy.

They clean an area out of all living things. Than they move on and clean out another area. Wolves travel in packs and attack in packs. They tried this in yellowstone park.....problem is wolves eventually left the park killing the easy prey on livestock ranches in nearby states. Population got so out of control the state game agencies instituted a regulated wolf hunting season to control the expanding population. They need to do the same thing for grizzly bears who have expanded out of the park into nearby states killing livestock .....with increased incidents of bear maulings and deaths of locals and tourist.

wolves and ranchers need to learn how to GET ALONG. you mean wolves know how to LEARN? what their really saying to the ranchers is "this is how it is, get used to it." this issue isn't now. it's 50 or 100 years down the road when they have thousands (if not tens of thousands) of wolves spread out across a 3 state area. this will come full circle when farmers then have to spend lots of money to protect their livestock from wolves AND THEN THEY PASS THAT COST ON TO THE CONSUMER. once that happens, it will be lights out for wolves in colorado. people don't mind this.....until they start paying for it. then everything changes.

It is a lot stupid to release wolfs around farms and not expect to have problems. All the wolves were gone for a reason, anybody remember what that was? It was because ranchers were tired of them killing their livestock. And the same thing will happen again. Colorado wildlife officials don't seem to be too bright here. If I were a rancher and they didn't bother my animals I would have no problem with it. But when I started losing livestock and found that it was from wolves, the hunt would begin. Jail be damned.

It's a great idea- I voted for it. I really wish CPW were not releasing them in the middle of freaking winter! I believe that if CPW released them later in the spring, that the wolves would not be predating on calves and lambs as vulnerable populations. In the wild they really like to go after voles, any kind of rodent, and maybe baby bunnies: they really do not like to go after larger animals. Watch "Never Cry Wolf" if you do not believe me; that's a really well-researched Disney movie. Unfortunately the wolves are hunted at the end. CPW is reimbursing the ranchers for ANY LIVESTOCK LOST. And that was agreed to by the voters when we voted for it. To have a healthy ecology you need predators! We still have bears in Colorado you know...

We will have wolves and grizzly bears and beavers and buffaloo and wild horses too, in America. We will protect a certain number of them in each state of America. We will share this land, successfully with them. It doesn't matter who is voted into office...this is non-negotiable. In addition, we will protect a certain amount of our various Salmon populations too, regardless of wildfires. Therfore before rebuilding any areas or new subdivisions, we need to completely overhaul how we build and fireproof those areas. We also need to remove from the streets all homeless persons as they not only pose a danger to themselves but also to everyone else. We need to determine what they need to not be homeless and provide those things to them. It is collective societies' responsibility to ensure no homeless exist anywhere in America. These are the right things to do.

This is nearsighted management of wild animals. Once these wolves have expanded their population and range, because of an abundance of baby deer, baby elk, baby moose and ranchers livestock, it will no longer be safe to hike, camp, fish a stream or lake. In the future wolves will be visiting our neighborhoods, like today, where bears, coyotes. mountain lions visit our neighborhoods looking for food to eat. Shame on you as your are creating a public safety mess.
