I did it this year on my MTN bike in late August. This was my scariest section. got stock in Lightning, No bike light, heavy rain and pitch black...Rolled into Silverton at 2 am. Horrible but grew mentally like no other. Currently writing a book on my 11 day adventure.. Great Job

Woof, can relate to you there. You will see in the next Segment as well as the previous one - we battled storms all weekend. Was rough when there is so much exposure.

22-30 miles a day, depending on weather. I generally would scoot into town after 4 or 5 nights

I just finished about a month ago. I would resupply every 4 to 5 days. The weather was a big factor in mileage, but I would average about 19 - 22 miles. It was easier for me not to think about how many miles I wanted or needed, but rather I would think in terms of how many hours I am going to hike today. I knew if I was on my feet walking 10 and a half to 12 hours I would be fine.

Love that mentality - we tend to be the same way of - hike for as long as we can and let the miles be what they are.

I thru hiked the CT last summer. I did 15-20 miles a day. I did one 24 mile day on the last day into Durango which hurt a lot. I resupplied every 5 days or so. I ran out of food a couple of times which kinda sucked. It’s nice seeing the familiar sights in your videos of the CT!

Sounds about where we are - minus the running out of food part. Probably like 50% of our bag weight 😂😂

Thanks for another excellent vlog with crisp 4K video. I section hike 1-2 weeks at a time and prefer to resupply every 3-4 days. I condition myself to take 6-7 days if needed to get me thru longer sections. I average 14-16 miles per day, more on gentle terrain, less on rugged terrain.

For me I normally hike 10-15 miles a day, and I tend to go 3-5 days in between a resupply.

Hiya thanks for your videos! I was checking out your wetterhorn, handies, sunshine, redcloud, and uncompaghre videos to prep for a race. I like to do higher miles so 24-40 in a day depending my goals and weather. I did the Colorado trail twice in 2019, once with my husky :). Resupply 3-5 days. Prefer a light pack. If I do 23 again I'll try dropping down camp trail, carson, or cataract gulch and 👍 to lake city for resupply.

I've hiked the San Juans for over 40 years. It is a pleasure to see such familiar country through your eyes. I see the doggie pack...do not pack your binocs or a banana in the dog pack! Especially with a golden retriever who has to go into any stream, marsh or lake!
