Been a while!! I have a spot where I could use that dredge. An inside bend with a bedrock trough that comes up in the middle of the river. I'm getting mad gold on the bank only having to dig two feet to bedrock that is angling towards the trough, so I figure that the gold would be awesome.
@ColoradoGoldCamp3 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a perfect deposition setup Ron, there could be a buckets load of gold down there! The 3" is very nice portable size for localized pocket dredging. Maybe I should come help you clean it out ;)

Why not have a classifier on end of the suction tube?
@ColoradoGoldCamp2 жыл бұрын
That would restrict the size of rocks that can get sucked up the nozzle. If it can't get sucked up the nozzle, we have to pick it up and throw it out of the hole.

Haven't seen you for a while, hope all is good. That is some prety fst water to work. Reminds me of california. Great info on the 3" set up. Is it a over and under sluice? I like the t-post trick. I had ten foot spuds on my 5" that were a pain. The oversize jet is a great invention by Keene. Good job guys.😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
@ColoradoGoldCamp3 жыл бұрын
All is great! Thanks Chuck, hope you have been well also! I use the t-post trick almost all the time now, it gives you so many different float angles n options. This was a straight single stage box with multiple woven wire classifiers over the riffles. It ran surprisingly well in the heavy bs material.

I see white patches on your wetsuits. I’m guessing it is to patch holes. What is it? How long does it hold water out?

Absolutely right. I just put a link for it in the description above. This is the only suit repair sealant that actually holds up to the rigors of gold dredging.

@ColoradoGoldCamp3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, calm warm water is the best, hehe! Fast water dredging can be a real challenge. Imagine trenching out from here into the main current, If you lift your head too high, you get sucked out of the hole😳
