Colored Microlink Extensions on Natural Hair | Indique Hair | Aisha Beau

Hey loves! This week, I'm giving color a try! You all know I take my natural hair maintenance seriously, so I wanted to try color on my hair safely. And Dani suggested doing microlinks. Microlinks are an extension method where the hair is attached with silicone microbeads or microtubes. They give a lot of freedom and a very natural finish because I'm able to have all of my hair out, so the style lays very flat. And because we *loved* the Indique Bounce Blow Out texture so much, we decided to put it to the test with color and blend it with my hair. We opted for the 18-inch this time around and Dani colored it in a beautiful light brown/blonde hue. In this video, we'll show you the entire process from start to finish. Yes! Looks great! Noticed you've been experimenting with heat styling. Any tips on how to best avoid heat damage when wearing straight styles?

Thank you! Yes, lots of heat protector when styling, and also only using heat once per style. So at night I sleep with flexi rods or bantu knots instead of re-curling or flat ironing my hair the next day. Also, when flat ironing only doing one pass instead of running the heat over my strands multiple times. Then, of course, breaks in between with my natural hair!

Definitely NOT for the 4C's in the house, I'd get about 1/2 a day before it started to frizz up ....and if I put that much heat on my hair, I'd be Split End City...It's lovely though. 💙

We use lots of heat protector when styling, and also only using heat once per style. So at night I sleep with flexi rods or bantu knots instead of re-curling or flat ironing my hair the next day. Also, when flat ironing only doing one pass instead of running the heat over my strands multiple times. Then, of course, breaks in between with my natural hair! As for the takedown process, I always have a professional do it and will be visiting Dani to handle that!
