Hi Sharon! I just want to say thank you for making these videos and your great ruler! I’m rather new to quilting, but love the look of the curved piecing. Without much quilting knowledge I jumped in with both feet and gave it a try. I found your videos on KZbin and they have been such a huge help! I got your ruler a while back and have been practicing on small projects. Recently I finished making my first full size quilt…complete with orange peel blocks running down the length of it. I couldn’t have done it without your helpful tutorials (which I have repeatedly referred back to). The ruler is genius and you are an incredible teacher! Many thanks again! 😊

Hi Sharon, do you think I can use the same/similar technique if I were working with a thicker fabric, e.g. wool upholstery fabric...? I love your patterns!

I think so! You'd use the ruler the same way. Make sure. you have a sharp blade for the thicker fabrics but don't cut into your ruler.

Love the quilt behind you. Do you have the pattern please? I take it this was cut out with the plus ruler?

Thank you! That pattern is called Untamed. It’s available at colorgirlquilts.com and can be made using either the larger or smaller size ruler

Hi... thank you. I love my new ruler. I am finding it difficult to sew these blocks together because I can't seem to get 3/4 inch on the end of the concave. It's always 1/2 inch and that leaves nothing between circles. I hope this makes sense. Any suggestions?

Sure! If you want more background fabric at the ends of your curves, you can cut your shapes larger. If you want to use th technique I'm showing in the video where you get two concave shapes from a square, cut your square 1 1/2" larger than the intended block. So if you are going to cut with the 6 1/2" cutting groove, start with a square that is 8" and cut 1" notches from two corners instead of 3/4" like I do in the video. This formula works for any size you want to do.
