This is the best that I have ever done on a flower and I am just in the beginning stages. I never noticed all of these lines in a flower before. Now I am forced to notice every line and color difference. This is good for me. Also, I am remembering not to aim for perfection. I use coloring as a way to relax. At first I was tense until I got into the rhythm of what I was doing and then threw calmness followed. Thank you!

It's why I picked flowers to teach this method. People will get less frustration and have some happy accidents. Nobody can screw it up.

I took a couple of 4x6 index cards and cut out a square the size of the grid squares in the middle of each card. This really helps me to look only at one square at a time...one for the value drawing and one for my drawing. I also did a larger one for the bigger picture grid. Just a thought! Isn't this fun?

@@divin-inarizona7125 Yes and no. I buy raw footage and do the editing. There were about 20 pieces of raw footage in that. Then I do the timing and add the words and music so it goes with the video. It sometimes takes me just as long to do the beginning as it does a whole video.

Lori thanks for creating this course for us. I can't imagine how much work must have gone into this not to mention the planning and conceptualization. A question - by anchor points do you mean shadow areas on the object. Like the shadow areas of the petals? And so by using the mid tones in the 1st few areas on the shadow areas are we creating a sort of a tonal map? Hope I am.able to convey my question?

This is a wonderful start! So very easy to follow. Not saying, this course will be easy. I'm so very happy, to get started so... 💚

I am so excited about this class! I have questions maybe some of you could answer. First, when printing the class materials, is it OK just to use the Georgia Pacific cardstock from Walmart or do I really need a better quality paper? Second, what kind of printer should you use? I have a printer that uses toner right by my desk. I do have an ink jet printer in the basement if that type of ink is better to use for coloring. Thanks so much!

Georgia Pacific went out during the pandemic. There is a new paper I use in the description. To print it's in black and white. No color.

So I have done a little bit of shopping online and now I am confused. Both the deli pencils and the SCHPIRERR FARBEN pencils are very highly rated. There is a coupon today on the deli pencils bringing their cost to just under $25 on Amazon. The SCHPIRERR FARBEN (please forgive the caps but I copied and pasted from the Amazon page so that I didn't misspell) are $38 and change. The obvious differences are price and # of pencils/set. The Deli pencils today are $25 for 72 pencils or roughly 25 cents each. SF are 96 for $38. What would you recommend?

Lori, you referring to the flower picture as if it was in color, my pictures are all in black and white! Am I missing something here or what? Thank you for your help.

Look in the paperwork. On the sheet that says Welcome there is a URL for the colored version.

Is there a time limit on this course? I'm still swatching my pencils and waiting for my colour wheel to arrive. Also, there is no links here under the video.
@ColorMyWorld3 жыл бұрын
No time limit. The videos will go into a playlist that is at the top. Go to my channel and you will see a pull down menu playlists. They are all there in order. The same for the first course. I see the links under this video.

@@kellyluvskolors2083 I use my electric for all pencils. With softer ones you just clean it using a #2 pencil. Grind one for a few seconds and your sharpener is clean and ready to use. My first electric lasted me 25 years. I am on my second one and I have had it around 2 years. It's going strong.

Lori, I can be a little slow at times, so I just want to clarify. We just use the mid tone pencil to fill in anchor points? Anchor points are the darker areas in the reference photo? Thank you!
@ColorMyWorld3 жыл бұрын
We are working on bottom layers so you don't want to over do your dark tones. This is why you only use your medium tone. This way when you do upper layers you will have somewhere to go with your tones. I am doing this in baby steps since it is the first one.

Hi Lori, (or anybody who might have the answer) where can I find the private video for the course that has the reference photos? I have purchased the class on etsy and I got 4 files for downloading, all pdfs. tia
