No they weren't because racism and mistreatment of another human despite skin color or ethnicity has been here before these few months or few years... It existed as well in Pocahontas day and before... Look up the true meaning of Thanksgiving, you wouldn't celebrate it ever again unless you are a savage.
@sallywhite76783 жыл бұрын
Michelle Gomez Thank you for the clarification. I agree. When I first heard this song years ago, my Dad was still alive; I was living far away from home and somehow the melody of the song made me think of him. Now, in Covid, the song still cheers me up and gives me hope. You are right and I apologize for any offense. God Bless You!❤️🐈

@@sallywhite7678 No offense and my apologies if I came off in another tone of unpleasant.. Wishing you can find more ways to cope. I'm glad this song brings you some happiness. As it does for me as well. Truly look research Thanksgiving. My grandparents who have Tribal parents (except my grandfather who's father was an African man) didn't celebrate that holiday...

Hi....I just found out that my mom is gone, so I decided to listen to her favorite song ‘colors of the wind’. I don’t think I can’t listen to this song the same way ever again. Life is really cruel, I just lost my best friend at 15, she didn’t even get the chance to see me graduate from highschool. But instead of getting sad, I’ll be strong for her cause she hates it when I’m sad or weak, she wants me to be strong and brave like her. Thank you for all the memories, mom... I love you..

You think you own whatever land you land on The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim But I know every rock and tree and creature Has a life, has a spirit, has a name You think the only people who are people Are the people who look and think like you But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger You'll learn things you never knew you never knew Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth Come roll in all the riches all around you And for once, never wonder what they're worth The rainstorm and the river are my brothers The heron and the otter are my friends And we are all connected to each other, In a circle, in a hoop that never ends Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon Or let the eagle tell you where he's been Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind Can you paint with all the colors of the wind How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon For whether we are white or copper-skinned We need to sing with all the voices of the mountain Need to paint with all the colors of the wind You can own the earth and still All you'll own is earth until You can paint with all the colors of the wind

Honestly as a Native American I personally am really happy that there is some form of representation of my people...like at least some people will actually realize that Natives are real and that we are still here.....Like some people from my school don't even really know what Natives are since the school I go to pushes not teaching kids about my history and it makes me honestly really sad like they are basically invalidating the pain that we went through and disregarding our *rich* history, myths, beliefs, just because it makes the history of white people look less clean than most want it too be.... And I know that some people are really unhappy with this movie since it honestly really messed up peoples belief in what actually happened....but I mean again its still representation and show that we actually do exist... Does it even make sense what I'm trying to say....??

Your good people I'm a natural human I love the land for what it is and provides the history books are wrong the native Americans are good pure people and the world could do with more of there ways I'm an English man and I try to stay close to your history the world provides the planet is sacrid and violence is not the answer (atleast that's what I got from what I study)

What you're saying is: some representation even if not totally correct is better than no representation at all. Native americans are a part of this earth along with many other cultures and people, to ignore a group, especially because what's been done to them makes certain cultures and people look bad- still isn't fair. History is History- it shouldn't be ignored but rather learned from. Can't change the wrongs of the past but can learn from those wrongs to make sure they are never repeated and to show the consequences and results of wrong.

If some educators won't push students to know more about the Natives, I suggest to build schools which are exclusively for Native American teachers who impart everyone about the history and all so there is still preservation and acknowledgement in the future. Actually I don't know the situation in there but I hope my recommendation helps.
