His mother remarried and he considered that as a betrayal. Deepali left him for Sikki. Madhubala slapped him in front of everyone. To be bitter at people it's the only thing he knows. And he has a big ego and that's why he doesn't let emotions control him. With Madhubala he made his biggest mistake in his life cause you can see that he loves her-his initial responses when she got hurt was to help her,in the darkness he doesn't want her to get hurt also,even when Deepali speaks bad about her he can't stand it(although be prepared cause he will use Deepali in this next episode to make Madhu jealous),but his ego doesn't let those feelings he has for Madhu to overcome. In the next weeks episodes they will both be drunk and he will ask Madhu to go back to him and they will reconcile(which I find a very beautiful moment) but when they get sober it will be another story but RK will realize he does love Madhu. And then when she will meet Sultan haha,he will go crazy out of jealousy. The thing I don't like in this show is that although he loves her,he never respected her,he will do things out of jealousy for Sultan but that's because probably deep inside he knew what he did and that he doesn't deserve Madhu and maybe that's why he will act that way,like nothing happened and like he didn't do anything wrong. But you'll see. He is very bitter man,don't forget that while watching.

And in one other moment he will say RK:Madhu don't meddle maa(mom)in this thing between us. And Madhu will say:"What thing between us. There's nothing between you and me." And the third time he will say for her to come back to him,but her response will be "No. Never!" So,RK will come back at his senses but Madhu will not want to get back at him cause she won't trust him and will be so hurt from the betrayal.
