Ravindra nath tagore , sharat chandra .Aaj in naamon ko sunkar kaisa laga aapko? And then he says tagore ko Aaj bhi samajhne ki koshish kar Raha hu. Sharat Chand ek dariya jaise(vast sphere u can dive to unimaginable depths.) Amazing. "Bidi jalai le jigar se piya" . I bet 99.99 percent took it as an ITEM SONG.but see what he had in mind when he wrote it-"Khushi to phuljhari ki tarah hai.(like a bang n it's over)gham agarbatti hai der tak sulagta hai((stays with u very long).

There is no comparison of Gulzar sb with Javed Akhtar. Javed Akhtar is an ordinary writer and poet, while Gulzar sb is a great poet and Director. The best movies in Bollywood have been made by him. I love Mousam, Ijazat, Angoor and Aandhi. His poetry is so touching. Listen to his ghazals in collaboration with Ghulam Ali sb.

@@Anshu-z3q There is a difference between film songs, dialogues and orginal poetry and literature. Javed Akhtar may be a geetkaar, but Gulzar sahab is a great poet, writer and director. People who have understanding of Urdu and Hindi poetry, can understand this poet. Music can make even newspaper headlines look like poetry. Among great Urdu poets of the modern era like Ahmad Faraz, Jaun Elia, Ibni Insha, Bashir Badr, Nida Fazli, Rahat Indori and Gulzar sb, Javed Akhtar is a tifli-maktab (school child). Aur beta, Jo Gular ko Guljar likhay, us ko ye batein samajh mein nahi aa sakti.

@@riyazandrabi6748 you did not have even iota of knowledge and forget me javed akhtar is great lyrics.ordinary writer can't even wrote iconic songs like sandesh aate hain, do pal ruka, aisa desh hai mera, hume tumse mohhabat ho gyi hai, main koi aisa geet gaoon, chand tare tor laun, dekh ek khwab to silsile hue in their dream. Only great lyricist javed sahab can write these iconic songs and line and also ek ladki ko dekha to, kuch na kaho and list goes and many more iconic songs like this. You are child. Javed sahab, anand bakshi sahab, sammer da whose name is in guiness book for writing most number of songs. These 3 are greatest song writer and in old there was hasrat jaipuri, majrooh sultsnpuri also

@@Anshu-z3q I have accepted that he is a poet, but ordinary. Some of his poetry is good. I like some of his songs ,but you can't compare him to others you have named. Gulzar sb ke sath tou bilkul bhi nahi. If you want to know what poetry means, read Ahmad Faraz. I am not comparing the legends like Galib. Mir and Faiz. Wo tou bohut oonchay hain. Javed Bhai ka name great poets mein bilkul nahi aata. Filmi ganay poetry nahi hoti.

@@riyazandrabi6748 I am talking about song writing. Javed sahab song lyrics was excellent sung by great lata ji, udit narayan sir, kumar sanu, sonu nigam. Anand bakshi, sameer also. Poetry is different things. Song writing skill also need poetry skills. In my opinion anand bakshi was finest song writer. His maximum songs is evergreen along with sameer guljar Javed akhtar and many other. Today songs is worst because of 0 good lyricist that's why great singers like udit narayan alka yagnik kumar sanu sonu nigam all is doing great shows due to old songs

I respect Gulzar ji not just for his poetries but for his every moment which he finds a whole life into , but I am immensely pained to say and genuinely hurt to say that my encounter with him wasn’t so pleasant , I had taken pictures from his television series Mirza Galib , for which I was not just not paid but also never credited after using the pictures on record and cassette covers , and was asked when questioned by Gulzar ji “ how will you prove that the pictures are yours” that was the saddest moment for me , I pacified myself by saying that one should not lose respect and always find ways to love poetry which I did became of him , I have gained a huge treasure from Gulzar ji , to which a small credit is least of the payment, thank you sir for writing the life that inspired us to live another day,.

But anupamji missed out on one thing what we refer to today as "user interface".that is how the listeners ,music directors,singers struggled with his poetic brilliance. Abhi tak kewal kaafiye par dhyaan rahta tha(ensuring that the last word of all the lines rhyme and are in sync. Then entered a different Gulzar saab. Suddenly poetry became prose. Recall " Mera kuchh samaan tumhare paas pada hai". When ashaji heard what she has to sing she was like"mai awaak Raha gayi"(I was stunned) . Pancham da (rdvarman) protested" kal ko times of india le aaoge ki iski tune bana do"(tomorrow u will bring a newspaper and ask for a tune for its articles). But gulzaar saab was not listening "mai likh Chuka hu. Tumhaari problem tum dono jaano"(I have finished my writing u both manage your issues ). Both relectantly agreed. What came out remains a masterpiece of combined brilliance of the three.(source vividh Bharti series on Pancham da) About listeners most of them follow my take on it--"kya gulzaar saab ka hai" then enjoy the music and singing. Don't try to understand the lyrics on the first go itself. Jab unke gaane samjhna hi mushkil hai to unke manas(mind) ko samjhna to aur bhi mushkil hai. Kaha hai " Jahan na Ravi(sun) pahuche vahan kavi(poet)pahuche. The poet has reach to areas where even sun rays can't reach ( the amazing vast sphere of a mind's thinking and imagination) him playing chess with God is like that only. Tumne(god) kaal (time) chala--maine lamha lamha jina shikh liya. This is what thay teach u in management classes.divide a problem into parts and deal with one part at a time.
