COLORSXSTUDIOS presents a new project exploring the role that music and visual art culture plays in relation to the campaign for global equality, human rights & democracy. Focusing on Sudan, the project showcases music from the north-east African nation and diaspora as a medium through which to raise awareness on the political situation there.
Across multiple episodes, a selection of Sudanese artists share their perspectives through music performances, alongside editorial content to provide in-depth context to the complex issues and events.
The project channels the creative spirit of the protest campaign against the autocratic government of President Omar Al Bashir and the military regime that succeeded him, emphasising how music, poetry and art are central to the dynamic cultural energy at the heart of the movement.

It’s like I’m in a coffee shop in a costal African city with hundreds of houses covered with flora covered balconies and a aged feel to them that adds so much charm. There’s a soccer game on the tv with the men, a beer in hand, watching in anticipation for every goal and a huge roar in return for each one. On the bustling, crowded streets, kids are playing a makeshift game of soccer while their mothers are chatting about their gossip . The coffee is smooth and rich and I’m with my lover, living the simple life that so many are missing out on . That’s what this music makes me yearn for

It's called ثوب in Arabic or توب in Sudanese dialects ( toob or toub in english) ,and it is the traditional outfit for the Sudanese women since the meroitic era "10000 years ago".you can find it in other countries I guess like Somalia,Djibouti and Mauritania but with different shapes and styles.

It depends on what do you mean by "culture" , if you mean the religion ,the majority of us are muslims so answering your question yes , but for Christians in my country of course it is not mandatory for them ,but in Sudan people are still more attached to their tribes culture (which most of these culture are totally against the religion), so we can say that the majority of Sudanese people put Sudanese traditions before religion,and this traditions can be strongly against religious beliefs.

Blacksnyder sure! “sabah elnour” and “sabah elkhair” literally translate to “morning of light or bright morning to you” and “morning of good.”. If one person says “sabah elnour” (morning of light) you respond with “sabah elkhair” (morning of good). They essentially mean “good morning” but the literal meanings are different! Is that a clear explanation? I also like to add that there are SO MANY different ways to say “good morning” in Sudanese-Arabic, it’s too many to count but my favorite is “sabah al ward wal yasmeen” which literally means “a morning of roses and jasmine” but actually just is used as good morning!
