I'm back again as a fan!. We took our sons aged 11and 15 to watch them at Worcester . They were brilliant. I took them to see Peter Green and John Mayall at Hereford , amazing!. Two old guys playing for 2 hours on each set. Went to see Collesium last year at the Robin 2 with eldest son. Again great band.

Great band! Once had the amazing experience of sitting 2 metres away - alongside Mr Hiseman whilst he was playing. It's not until now that I realise how fortunate I was to get that seat as the manager thought we were with the band! (Paraphernalia at the Sunnyside, Northampton!)

WOW! Late to the party. I recognize some of these names from other recordings, but I never owned any original works. I slightly remember having something called coliseum 2. I could be wrong, I don't think I got a chance to listen to it. There is so much to miss in the world, this concert shows how much I missed w/ them. Saw good reviews in publications, although I never managed to own any. I've heard some of the compositions also. Nice nice nice group and concert. Was- In the Heat of the Night - them from the tv series? Great post.

What a real gem. There's some really wonderful playing, including Barbara Thompson's very capable replacement for the unfortunately ill Dick Heckstall-Smith. Nice fill-in narratives from John Hiseman adding some interesting snippets regarding the tour and making of the album. All in all a damn fine video and a must-watch both for Colosseum aficionados and music connoisseurs generally.

Dick Heckstall-Smith had a unique style and was a very kind and humble musician. But his sound was very raw and edgy, sometimes pretty old fashioned. Let´s say he had his own quality. Barbara does a brilliant job here after only one week of rehearsals and her tone is smoother and - how could I say it without misunderstanding - much more inside the band sound. Sometimes she even remembers me of the great Michael Brecker. And her solos are much more logical, whereas Dick was unpredictable.
