Great video. So good to see you do a color and chat. Love watching you color and listening to you. Can’t wait to see your finished picture. I also have the Inktense blocks. I think it’s time to get them out and start seeing what they can do! I love all your videos no matter what you do. Thanks so much and take care. ❤❤

Thanks for sharing this chatty color along video 😁😘 I enjoyed watching & listening to you 😊 ❤ I love the Inktense pencils and sticks 😀 they are fabulous ♥ you might like to try using the Inktense sticks like a normal watercolor using a wet brush and pick the color you want and you can pick two colors or 3 and paint with them to create a new color. Also you might like yo use a larger brush which can hold water more which will give you a smoother coloring result 😊 I hope I'm making sense and that wil help you to use the sticks more 😊

It must feel great approaching such a long holiday. But I bet it goes fast when it happens. I’ve only used inktense blocks on fabric. But watching you do that, I think it would be easier and smoother if you worked light to dark in separate layers that you dried properly in between. And you need to use a softer brush, a proper quill brush or decent sized round. I think the paper would behave better and you would not need to scrub. You are making this page work for you, but next time try layers of glazing. You should be OK applying the stick to the paper as you won’t be fighting to blend as you activate it. Just a thought. Mia is a fab and fearless colourist. She also now has a gorgeous art room.

It goes really fast, somehow at the start of the holidays you think it will almost last forever, but before you know it, 3 weeks have gone and you are half way through. Then, September is full of stress!

Hi Chelsea, that would be awesome. Why don’t you send me some suggestions on Instagram and I will have a look? We can try to do it for this month, but if I don’t finish it, maybe August? Definitely think we should do it though. Thanks for suggesting. Hope you’re doing well lovely, I need to catch up on your videos, now that I’m slowly becoming more free from work! 😊❤️

Great video. I love to see your colour along. I have that Japanese book and haven't started colouring in it yet as I find it intimidating but your video will help me get started. I'm going to save my money and buy some Korean watercolour books that you showed in your haul, probably next year. They look beautiful and I have decided to stop buying colouring books with cheap paper, I just don't enjoy colouring in them. I am colouring in an Amazon printed paper, and I'm really not enjoying it.

Do you buy books with heavier paper where you can remove the sheets to color? Or do you plan to buy books with heavier paper and you color in the books? I’m asking because I plan to make coloring books with heavier, acid free paper if I can find it and they will be sturdy for art markers and maybe watercolors.

@@ArdenKamille I would like to buy books where I can use watercolours and my coloring pens, and yes if I can remove the pages, that would be good but it doesn't bother me if they stay in a book as well. I have in the past bought pdfs from etsy from artists I love who also have books but not the quality of paper I like, so I just print the design on watercolour paper and I enjoy it better.

@@luciewilkins3503 Hi Lucie, thanks for responding. Good to know you can buy pdfs from etsy artists, all digital downloads, so you can print them? that’s a new idea to me. I have an empty etsy store, maybe I could put my coloring books or pages for sale there. Hmm… How do you print the design on watercolor paper? Do you scan the design or photo it into your pc or mac and then print from your computer? That’s another good idea. I’m working on changing my color images into gray scale, testing the images by coloring them myself and it’s not so good yet. Too dark in too many areas, but I love the color images. Do you like books where the images are shown in color, black and white and/or gray scale designs? I’ve been looking at the ‘hauls’ of coloring books on YT channels and there’s a huge number of coloring books! I’m going to check it out on Etsy, too.

@@ArdenKamille I've had to print some pages at work, so not ideal, as my home printer couldn't handle the paper. I also think I only used less than 300gsm paper. I also tried to take a picture of the coloring book and scanning on a mobile app, but that really didn't give a good image. That's why I think I would love the Korean books. It would save all the hassle.

And also I love the cute illustrations of the Korean books!

I think the issue is less your brush and more the inktense blocks. They are very absorbent, unlike traditional watercolor. Almost like chalk. They do the same thing in the pan, just soak up loads of water. I did get a giggle when you said if all else fails you would pull out the black background, I'm glad I'm not the only one LOL. Black posca is the superhero of coloring.
@ColouringwithK3 ай бұрын
I definitely need more practice with them, I find the blocks much harder to use than the pencils but then I have had more experience with the pencils!

Cool video, can't wait to see how this page turns out. When you were talking you were going to say why you might use clear Gesso instead of satin glazing liquid but you for to say. What is the reason? Because I have both and would like to know if ones better than the other. I'm happy with whatever videos you make and will watch all. ❤ xxx
@ColouringwithK3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I would use gesso if I am using gelatos or oil pastels or paints but not watercolour pencils as the surface is quite rough but if I’m planning on using watercolour pencils as well as pens or paints, I will use satin glazing liquid as it gives a smoother finish. Gelatos work better on gesso I feel.

The Derwent push button in fine is my favorite waterbrush as well. I did a quick google and found many for sale in singles. Not sure who has them in the UK (I'm in the US) but Derwent themselves sold them, so that is an option at least.
@ColouringwithK3 ай бұрын
In the UK they are not readily available as singles, they used to be. However, I did find some at WH Smith’s but it was half the price of a set of 4 push button brushes so went for the set as it was more economical!
@waymire013 ай бұрын
@@ColouringwithK I keep hoping someone will come out with one about half the size of "fine".. we really need some teeny ones for the type of detailed pages we both enjoy.
