this was so so helpful. Your explanation and demonstrations of the techniques were insightful and easy to understand. Definitely going to try out these 3 methods. I love my olive skin, but the darkness around my lip and eye areas always made me feel self-conscious about my makeup skills. I would do more skin-like, Dewey looks bc of it. Lately, I've been loving more matte looks with fuller coverage and it's been interesting trying to combat the ashiness. I'm excited! Thanks so much

alle_rae Thank you for the feedback. I feel exactly the same about doing more natural and dewy looks. It’s like my life’s mission to be able to come up with ways for us to achieve that especially because skin like looks can be harder with the hyperpigmentation. I’m editing a new video coming up that shows another way to colour correct. The lovely thing is, it’s totally possible for us to get the even skin tone with less if we want. Just have to find the right products!

I have light to light med olive undertone and I was trying to find a video where I could understand the different ways to color correct in these same problem areas , then I came upon yours. Your video was so helpful . I so appreciate the way you demonstrated everything and your voice is so calming. Please, if possible, make a whole series for all your favorite products for the same brown /olive undertone makeup , breaking it down into blush highlight contour powders etc.. I would so watch all of them! Much love xx

The thing is you’re skin is so unbelievably beautiful that one can’t even tell you put on concealer that is somewhat high coverage. Unfortunately, when I do that, my face looks caked up. I don’t have pimples on my face, but I think its still not that even. Don’t have another explanation or solution for that😅Anyways, you’re gorgeous!
@silvybothamakeup3 жыл бұрын
Haha thank you, and I also hear you because I struggle with texture build up real quick when I miss skin care days. The trick with high coverage concealers on texture is moisture. Try to mix a high coverage concealer with a cream or even a drop of hyaluronic acid. The point is that the texture should mimic skin instead of drying thick. You can set it with the lightest dusting of powder on a fluffy brush. I often prefer to set first with a strong setting spray so I don’t have to use as much powder. Helps to keep it from looking cakey. Try it and let me know how it goes!

Hi Silvy, would you recommend a peach toned concealer for dark circles instead of using a colour corrector and then a concealer that matches my skin tone? If so, do you have any shades you recommend with haus labs, caliray, nars, and elf? My skin tone is similar to yours. Thank you!
@silvybothamakeup6 ай бұрын
Honestly, whichever you prefer. I do personally prefer peach tone concealer because it’s faster and more natural looking. For Nars I love the shade Ginger and for Elf hydrating concealer I like Medium Sand
@meena-joy6 ай бұрын
@@silvybothamakeup is Thank you! Medium Sand peach toned? I see they also have Mediurn Peach
@silvybothamakeup6 ай бұрын
The names aren’t always the best indicator of the shades. Sometimes what they call Peach is more cool or neutral undertone. To me, true peach is more golden warm undertone so it’s important to compare the actual shades rather than buy based on names or shade descriptions.

We have almost same skintone and undertone. I would check out your lipstick collection because no lipstick looks good on me
@silvybothamakeupАй бұрын
I learned the reason why I used tot think no lipstick looked good on me is because I didn’t have a defined lip contour. So I use a darker brown to contour the lips first for definition and then I can wear a lot of lipsticks. Could you please tell me how to color correct green veins around my mouth being olive
@silvybothamakeup2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Sorry for the very late reply. Green can be corrected with a more red tone. You want to use small amounts of a red corrector only where the green is, similarly to how i show around my mouth. Play around with the amount that you need. Then you can cover with your regular foundation or concealer by gently dabbing on with sponge or brush.

As darker skinned people. You lost me at that. You are not dark lol
@silvybothamakeup8 ай бұрын
Context is key. In the context of this topic and mainstream beauty where traditionally options weren’t available for non-fair skinned people, yes we are darker. Difference between being “dark” and being “darker” in comparison to the mainstream selection of shades until recent years. This video titles states it’s for “brown/olive” skin tones, so naturally my video wouldn’t be geared towards you if you’re a dark skinned person. But it does address how to choose correctors for dark skinned people.
