Originally from Yorkshire, England, Nick is currently based in Tauranga after relocating to New Zealand in 2006. He graduated from Chesterfield College of Art and Design in 1981 with a distinction in Ceramics and membership to The Society of Designer Craftsmen.
As well as New Zealand Nick has exhibited his paintings and ceramics in the UK and the Channel Isles. He was also awarded ‘Best Watercolour’ in the 2008 Tauranga National Art Awards.
He has also been an art tutor for 25 years in adult and youth education.
In Nick’s words…
“My love of watercolour, as a medium, is very similar to my love of working with ceramics… There’s an unpredictability to both. You can’t fully control what happens at every stage so you learn to work in partnership. There’s an alchemy involved with what happens when paint hits wet paper… Like watching fireworks! You can’t force it. You can only work with what it gives you.”

LOVE love love these, they are gorgeous, I have an English Bull Terrier and he is the softest dopiest thing ever :) Rather like an overgrown bean bag dog. They do get a bad press and they simply shouldn't. Absolutely love Mr, Eggleston's paintings,. Wonderful thank you so much xx

This show is THE best show for artists of all skill levels. The structure is perfect for both entertainment and education and the artists featured are great as well. Shedz Channel Yeah he's pretty good and I already have a Licensing agent for him in London that wants to distribute his images across the UK and Europe, just goes to show the power of the show, Artists have people and companies coming in from all over the world now. I am flabber gasted that more Artists don't do this. We are about to sign a major distribution deal with a U.S company for Global TV networks for the shows. MILLIONS of people will see these people in the next year. There is no magazine on the Planet that can do what we can now, Graeme

Shedz Channel Unfortunately Ian, we probably only be filming in Australia in the next 6 months or so, we are just taking final bookings from folks, who seem to be coming in pretty quickly across Australia. The response we are having from the U.S means that the series will probably leave Australia next year. It will still be aired here but will mostly be U.S Artists in the future as we have so much interest there in what we have created. We can't get any support here, apart from the Artists here, so we have to go where we can, Graeme

Really awesome use of water colour, tats and creativity! Loved this episode! I have worked with bully breeds and even have an itty bitty pitty right now who is deaf from life in a crack house in Ontario. I now feel inspired to try to do more watercolour with her as my model. ***** Hi Leo, if you know of Artists that are prepared to pay to be on the show then we can go and see them, all of the Artists that we have filmed have invested in the series themselves. Its the only way we have been able to do this, but in saying that they have all had huge global feed back from doing this and it is only getting better for them, Graeme
