Hi guys! Just wanted to let you all know that Colourpop has recently stated that they will be renaming and updating the next production of this collection launch due to the backlash!

It is not only "some backlash". I am really dissapointed with colourpop, a company I support all the way from Europe (imagine all the shipping costs!). This is cultural appropriation, using sacred symbols of native Americans, and names such as "Pueblo". We live in a time where we should think twice and thrice, before we use somebody else's culture to promote commercial stuff, and to generate profit for white people.

Wow this is a beautiful collection!! I love the square pans in the palette, it makes it almost look more luxe and high-end. I also love Colourpop's creme gel liners so I want to pick up the khaki green and the terracotta shade. Also I'm really curious about the cream shadows, I'm really into cream makeup products rn, and they look like they would be right up my alley. Thank you so much Jessi for sharing, and I wonder what the new look will look like now, because I really love the design on the palette.

As a resident of AZ, I feel so connected to this collection! I purchased the liners because they're just so gorgeous. I had to grab the creme eyeshadow in Flagstaff and the lippie stix in Verde Valley because those are both places in AZ!!! I live in Flagstaff for 3 years for college, and it will forever have a special place in my heart. ♥️

I know I LOVE green eyeshadow! I'm waiting for CP to do a beautiful green palette! Not the mint green or the more clover green or true green (idk if that's what you'd call it but I think the St Patrick's days one they made) but more like mossy greens, khaki greens, olive greens and Forrest greens! Deeper and lighter beautiful greens not just true green or not just emerald (I would prefer emerald to true green and mint though!). I feel like more people are starting to enjoy greens now so I'm praying they do!!!

I use the cream shadow kind of as a primer on a bare lid and it works great! It dries nicely and even looks nice all by itself for a simple look

Oh my gosh, finally someone else who does the accent thing!!! I totally get where you're coming from, and I have no idea why it would annoy or distract people lol - if anything it keeps things interesting/fun(at least according to my friends and fam lol)! I even had a friend who moved to England and after being there for several years now speaks in a British accent naturally, it's human nature to imitate even uncosnciously. :)

I don't understand how this is cultural appropriation. On the website it says "take me to Sedona" as a description for the palette. As an Arizona native and someone who frequents Sedona yearly I personally feel like this collection represents the town to a T. I was so excited to see this release and ordered immedately!

Anna Zhao that's the entire culture of the American Southwest my dude. It's simply a result of America being a cultural melting pot. It's not racist it's just that in the US there is influence from most cultures to be found somewhere in here. The problem comes when other cultures are represented by racist stereotypes and not by something truthful, like art or mythology of a given culture.

Laura Miller exactly! Plus the names aren't emphasizing anything specific to Native Americans, mostly just landscape characteristics. The only one that even kinda pushes that is pueblo but even that's a stretch because it's just a word for the adobe villages of the American Southwest. I don't know why people have to get upset about this stuff. I think this was done very tastefully.

And yes the “satin” shade your talking about the ones with flex of glitter that’s a matte yes those actually blend out really really well when you have a little bit of gritty texture in a matte it just increases the blend ability!

That's not satin shades hun. They're called sequin eyeshadow. Satin has no visible glitter and is not metallic. It's almost matte but with a slight sheen. It's crazy because it's so rare to find actual satin shades these days! You either get metallic, shimmer, matte and more people are doing the sequin eyeshadows and CP does too many now imo.
