You can find out the values of the inductor and capacitor by using the formula frequency = 1/2pi sqrt(LC) If f =455 kHz. L= milli Henry (inductors available in milli Henry range) then you will get the value of capacitance. You can choose the value of inductors available in the market. Then decide the value of capacitor.

Sure. You can use inductor, but the problem is inductors are not readily avaliable. So first select an inductor (Milli Henry) range, which is readily available in the market and then find out the value of capacitor.

This is a high frequency LC oscillator you can't make 60hz by using this circuit, instead use low frequency RC oscillators for making such low frequency waves. You can make square wave oscillator with 60hz by using 555 IC

IFT is readily available in the market. Normally come in a pack with three nos. 2 nos with capacitor and one without Capacitor. For colpitts oscillator you can use both of them. Heartily use IFT with capacitor. IFT for 455 kHz
