Is there a pro vs con for aimpoint comp4 batter up or down placement? Want one for my Colt block II fsp and think the one with the battery on the upper side looks more pleasing for some reason.
@WheelchairOperator3 жыл бұрын
Some argue that the M4S is better because it’s more streamlined, has a lower profile, the battery compartment is more protected and you have a better view in your peripherals for more situational awareness. However, it’s an Aimpoint, so it’s built like a tank, and it just really boils down to personal preference. I personally like the M4S far more than the M4 aesthetically, so that’s partially why I went with the M4S.

Not a big fan of them. The Comp M4S actually replaced a bunch of TA01-NSN ACOGs when they started getting issued to people in place of the TA01’s. I’ll admit that I love the overall look of an ACOG on an M4A1, because it’s peak GWOT rifle aesthetic, but that’s about it for me.

@@WheelchairOperator they’re durable though I’m not going lie. I remember I accidentally dropped my rifle when I was still in,(your not suppose to do that or else you’ll pay for it) that thing didn’t even crack or damaged. @WheelchairOperator3 жыл бұрын
@@gogurtz1738 I’ve previously used an SU-237 and TA01-NSN on my M4A1 Block II, but didn’t really enjoy either of them. I’ve owned the TA44 as well, which was kinda neat just because of the tiny footprint, generous eye relief, low magnification and optical clarity, but the BDC in the reticle was wayyyyy off regardless of what ammo and barrel length/twist rate I used, including M855 through my 14.5” which is what it was arguably based around in its concept. ACOGs definitely work well for a lot of people, but it’s also becoming a very dated design with modern LPVO options out there, or compared to the SU-230 / SU-269’s (Elcan SpecterDR 1x/4x) if we’re strictly referring to optics issued on the M4A1 via the SOPMOD program.

@@WheelchairOperator the first portion of your video, it looks like the rear of the launcher is attached with two screws on each side, rear of your laser. The only barrel mount I saw was the front clamp? And since you still have the delta ring on, this would imply a two piece rail system. I could be wrong with your setup, but it's hard to tell on video.
@WheelchairOperator3 жыл бұрын
@@Randy_84 Nope. The bottom section of the KAC rail is removed (same idea as removing the bottom rail on the Daniel Defense RIS II) and the M203 does not contact or mate to the rail itself whatsoever. The rear of the M203 receiver slides over the barrel and indexes with a pin to the delta nut to keep it from spinning. The trigger guard is actually a massive spring the puts large amounts of force forwards using the barrel clamp to stop. I can make a video installing the M203 on a standard M4A1 with the KAC rail as well as installing it on an M4A1 SOPMOD Block II using the RIS II rail since I’ve been thinking about doing that anyway since I get asked a lot of questions about it.
