Picked up an excellent condition MT6700 for $1099.99 less than two years ago at a local shop. People passed it over because of the bare muzzle. I bet it was more expensive in '03.

The first Colt AR that I bought was an MT6601. I don't really mind the bare muzzles.

I never knew that there were so many Colt variants, but thanks to your videos, I'm finding out. Looking forward to the next one.

This video doesn't even cover the tip of the iceberg. If you like content like this, I'm happy to do more.

I have the 16” variant that I picked up in 1995. It’s marked competition match HBar II. Only problem, I had the barrel threaded and installed a bird cage a couple years after I picked it up. Hind sight I would not have done that.

Those comps work great. They are basically a copy of the old Miculek comp if you didn’t know

I'm not familiar with the compensators at all so I appreciate the additional information.

There is definitely a lot to learn about all of the variations.

At one time I had a Colt Match Target H-bar. The gun looked a little neutered without the evil bayonet lug and birdcage flash hider. I'm a bigger fan of the Colt AR-15 A4 when it comes to a 20inch rifle.

I have always said that if I can only own one Colt AR, it would be a Colt AR15A4.

I seem to remember that these were introduced about the time when the national match championships, service rifle category, was switching over from the M1A rifle to the AR-15 rifle. At the time I had a M1A national match rifle that I used in the national match championships. I decided not to upgrade to the AR-15 rifle. Never had a chance to shoot one so I can't say how well they handled but given the fact that they were required to shoot at a thousand meters I'm not sure that 5.56 caliber would do very good at that range. I would be interested in hearing from anybody that had an opportunity to shoot the AR-15 rifle in the championships and see what their thoughts were on it.

An AR is mostly at the end of its range at 1000 yards. Special Forces were getting 900 yard torso hits with MK. 262 77gr ammunition in Iraq in 2004.

I have a match target that I was thinking about getting threaded, is that the wrong thing to do?
@thecoltar15resource5 ай бұрын
Whether or not it is "the wrong thing to do" is really up to you. You are not going to hurt the value. It just depends if you prefer to have a factory original example in your collection or not.

@@thecoltar15resource that answers my question perfectly, thanks a lot. Your collection is amazing.
