I'm a fanboy too and I just got mine a couple of weeks back. FYI, the vents on the rib have no purpose, they don't help with recoil or make the gun louder because they are not barrel ports. They are for looking cool, which it does.

As best I can ascertain they do in fact serve a purpose. Lightening cuts. The full underlug design is good for reducing recoil with front bias weight, but the 6" models were almost too heavy, and thus we saw the ribs. I do believe that some models wound up with a hollow underlug as well.

Love my 2020 Colt Python, but didn't like the single action pull. Sent mine off to TJ's Custom and he got it down to a tad over 3 pounds. The trigger on it is phenomenal. Out of the box both my 2019 King Cobra and the 2020 Python were stiff. I have since put about 6,000 rounds thru the 3" King Cobra and 2,500 thru the Python and both break in greatly. After the 1500 mark is when I really start to notice it. Also. The longer cut grooves in the cylinder make it so the cylinder ring is less noticeable/ also helps with the glassy action. Hope this info helps. Get shootin'! - Junkyard

I purchased the 4.25" python. The gun shop I purchased it at did not have very good lighting, and I did not have my "cheater" glasses on. Once I got home I noticed some frame damage and had to send the gun back to Colt. Customer service said to send it back and they would fix it, I knew the gun was not fixable but I knew they would see that once the gun arrived. Long story short they just sent me a new gun and I had to do paperwork and waiting period again. I still do not have my gun, but upon inspection the gun looks great, but I don't know the function details as of yet. I wish Colt would have had better QC on these guns if you establish a good quality control department that checks guns as they are going down the line and if they refused to allow defects out the door this launch would have went down better. All of this being said, I am still happy with my purchase but not with the 1 year warranty??? I recently purchased a KEL-TEC P17 for $178.99 that came with a lifetime warranty 😂 good job in your video my friend.

I've always liked the Pythons and Anaconda's. The iconic design of the spine. Just not crazy about the pricing. Cost more than a S&W 357 Perf Comp....by about $300-400.00. If I were in the market for a revolver in this price range the S&W would definitely be in the running too...like the removable weights idea...under the barrel...I'm assuming it DOES make a difference in reducing muzzle flip and weighting the gun to your preference. And looks good too IMHO. Sets it apart for sure. Will you shoot it?? :)
@bustabass90252 жыл бұрын
People should quit whining about the cost of the 2020 Python. They've always cost more than Smiths. I chose an S&W model 66 over a Python back in '89, because it was a little less than $300 cheaper. Everything costs more today than it used to, including Smiths. Adjusted for inflation, the $1,500 MSRP today is about right for what they cost, back at the time they were discounted. Of course the Gunbroker undertakers, and others of a similar ilk, are going to push the absolute envelope for what they think they can get. I bought one and a 2021 Anaconda, for about the same price I've seen originals going for. To me, as someone who has always wanted to own these two iconic revolvers, it is good to see them reintroduced, and it was money well invested.
