Not only that, this podcast actually led to Punk coming back as a direct consequence of it. 1. Punk goes on this podcast and talks about his staph infection 2. Dr. Amann sues Punk and Cabana 3. Punk and Cabana have a falling out over that lawsuit 4. After Punk goes to AEW, the Elite blame him for Cabana's lack of success there 5. Punk goes off on them at the media scrum and they have a physical altercation 6. Punk is suspended 7. After his subsequent return, he has a second altercation and is let go, whereas he probably would not have been let go if it was the first time 8. He returns to WWE

2014- CM Punk’s on great terms with Colt Cobana and strongly dislikes Triple H 2024- CM Punk and Triple H have buried the hatchet and are on great terms, and Punk now refuses to even speak to Colt Cobana ‘without a Lawyer’. How the wheel turns in this journey we call life.

it should've been as such. It would've given punk a spot in the main event and they could've dropped the strap to Cena regardless. Rock winning the title was utterly pointless. Everyone knew he would just keep the title until mania with no matches to drop it to cena in their big 'rematch' which didn't live up to the first clash.

One of the biggest differences between Punk/Moxley is the realization they came to during their 'injury vacation': Moxley reinvigorated his passion for wrestling, while Punk found joy in hobbies that his hectic schedule had forced him to abandon. WWE will literally run your mind/body/spirit into the ground if you allow them to.

I respectfully disagree. There are some cases of guys and girls leaving the company because they weren´t on a good state mentally and physically, Punk and Mox being the 2 most vocals about it. But what about the whole rest of the roster who are happy and in a good place mentally?! Of course there are this cases where WWE give some people burnout from wrestling, but there are the opposite cases, so can´t blame just on the company, but the company´s relationship with the wrestler. If the wrestler is happy them good for everyone, if the wrestler isn´t them the company will only burn their passion indirectly.
@kiaba360-4
@kiaba360-4 3 жыл бұрын
@@victorapolinario2766 The individual personalities/motivations of each wrestler also plays a role. As @Mr.555 stated, there are elements about WWE that are objectively problematic: hectic schedule, seemingly limited input from the wrestlers, too many cooks in the kitchen trying to please the head chef from Hell (Vince), not too mention the injuries that come with this line of work. Some people have temperaments and motivations that can handle the toxicity better than others. Listening to Punk's interview again, he tried his hardest to fight through all of the mounting negativity and micro-aggressions in order to "be a good soldier" and live up to old-school expectations (What Would Harley Race Do?). That's why I originally said that WWE will run their performers into the ground *if they are allowed to*. Punk eventually hit rock bottom (no pun intended) and desperately fled the situation that was making him miserable. Majority of the roster will probably never have to deal with the amount of issues that Punk had with WWE (fortunately), but there are several that will ultimately question if WWE is truly the "dream job" that they always wanted.
@Madferit91
@Madferit91 3 жыл бұрын
Also what people fail to realize: Moxley's state of mind in 2019 was sort of the same (and probably even less) as 2011 CM Punk who did end up resigning. Imagine the hell Moxley would be going through had he signed for 3 more years like Punk did. He would want to kill himself.

Heart felt comment coming. First off I'm a fan of both you guys and I think it's genuinely sad that your friendship is over. I think both of you have a valid point and I think both of you have something to apologise to each other for. I hope you can repair the damage as honestly I think your friendship is another causality of a family of megalomaniacs. Anyway I found punks view on the interaction with fans really interesting. Now I know you prefer to have your birth name used by those who truly knows you I will address you accordingly if I'm ever lucky enough to meet you. To be honest I would have addressed you as Mr Brooks but that's only because I want you to know that as a fan I understand there is a flesh and blood man behind the controlled product you were forced to become by the product. Wwe may not have give a damn about the blood, sweat and tears you all gave to make them money but as a fan I'm so grateful to you all. Ratings mean nothing to the WWE these days. It may even help them in the long run by providing an impetus to focus on their streaming service - which they can then use to make a buck off the indies. Vince McMahon saw CM Punk as a tool to put people over after he became popular. First was Kevin Nash, then Triple H, then Alberto Del Rio, then John Cena, then The Rock, then Undertaker and finally Brock Lesnar. After that he went to win a few matches against Ryback, Curtis Axel and The Shield to regain his momentum but it was too little too late when they decided to have him feud with the authority which included Kane and then Triple H at WM30. After 3 years, Vince would give CM Punk's win back against Triple H when nobody gave a fuck anymore.

The truth is, we all complain about how WWE treat some superstars unfairly and put over some others talent such Cena, Roman, etc. And this is what CM Punk did, in a real way, and thats why everybody want him to comeback. To once again, becoming the voice of voiceless.

When this came out as a kid, I thought to myself there's no possibility of CM Punk going back. Followed his story all along from writing comics, to UFC, to coming back for a wwe fox show, to movies, to AEW...now finally to WWE where it all started. Wow. You just had to be there all along to witness this man. I hope he doesn't disappoint nobody this time and I hope he redeems himself.

Damn I feel bad for punk, I had no idea that WWE had such a toxic work environment. Growing up I loved the hell out of the wwe and I wanted to be a superstar myself and I wanted to meet everyone there but damn I don't know if I want to now lol. He literally sounds like he was put through hell. I can't imagine what's that's like.

1:27:07 It’s still just so mind blowing that HHH’s ego is so big, and is so insecure that he was never as big a star as Austin, Rock, Hogan, Flair etc, that he felt he needed to come out of retirement just to beat Punk and go back into retirement immediately afterwards. It’s actually kind of sad when you think about it. Can you imagine if in 1997, when Austin was getting white hot, they had Bob Backlund come out of retirement and beat Austin at a PPV and then immediately go back into retirement afterwards? How stupid would that have been? There’s no mystery why so many people simply quit watching WWE, and oddly enough it was around 2002 and 2003 when their ratings started to plummet when HHH was on top.
