I think Colton is going to be a big star. He was the best thing in the DEH movie, his portrayal of Conrad in Girl from Plainville was amazing, and he’s made subsequent appearances on Broadway in North County, et al. Extraordinary talent.

Honestly agree but he should’ve had more screen time in the movie. Maybe the scene with Evan & Connor before words fail still could’ve been in there, AT LEAST!

I love how he puts emphasis on the important words, if you pay attention to his voice you can hear how much care he puts in special words

OMG I'm so happy Ben Platt was Evan in the movie! I love Colton Ryan, but he's like... funny... in parts that aren't supposed to be funny and he should NOT have done this song

Colton was excellent in this role and in this song. As excellent as Ben was in the broadway production, I thought he was pretty bad in the movie.

@@57andstillkicking In the movie, Connor/Colton sings A Little Closer toward the end. It’s not the funny exuberant Connor of Sincerely Me, which is a figment of Evan’s imagination anyway, but a lost soul who doesn’t know where to turn anymore. I felt that Connor, that is, the Connor at the rehab singing that poignant song, really did want to die.
