This song is so beautiful, even at just a surface level; Coltt's voice is tender and sweet, yet there is a reserved strength to it, and his finger picking sounds so calming. However, when you really pay attention to the lyrics, a tear or two come to the eye. What a blessing. Thank you.

LYRICS VERSE 1: Bueleah, coal country woman. Let down your golden hair and let those breaker boys see a maiden so far. Bueleah, sweet sparrow, sing “Pretty Saro” all night long and call the ghosts from Eureka back home. CHORUS Bueleah, Mountain Maiden, you’re the twinkle they see in my eye. Bueleah, precious angel, I love you ‘til the day I die. And I’ll keep you satisfied, sweet Bueleah. VERSE 2: Bueleah, washer woman, hang my clothes on the line and tend to the garden beneath that evergreen pine. Bueleah, ragtime picker, play your dulcimer until you bleed and when we dance tonight, I’ll let you lead. CHORUS Bueleah, Mountain Maiden, you’re the twinkle they see in my eye. Bueleah, precious angel, I love you ‘til the day I die. And I’ll keep you satisfied, sweet Bueleah. VERSE 3: Buleah, the mine’s collapsing, so say a prayer for one and all and keep your hands folded until you hear me call. (a shift to the Am chord appears here, which leads into the intro progression) Buleah, weeping widow, you have treated me so kind. So just let my body rest down in the mine. LAST CHORUS: Bueleah, Mountain Maiden, you’re the twinkle they say in my eyes. Bueleah, I’m your angel. I loved you ‘til the day I died. And I pray you’re satisfied, sweet Bueleah. CODA Bueleah, Mountain Maiden, won’t you let down your silver hair.
