I had many of my Hindu friends in UK who called themself Asians in public ...I never understood why ! Why the fear? I was the one odd man out amongst them always hoisting our Dharma Flag!!. I lost many of own Hindu friends because they thought if they be close to me then they will not be accepted by Brits!!! Such a deep level of inferiority complex!!!! I wonder, how come I never got such a disease... I think Ishwar had already chalked out my life's goal. I was destined to meet Guru Rajiv ji. I am destined for a common YAGY along with my Guru. He is not given enough credit which he deserves. He will go down as one of the greatest Indians in history. Seems that he is the first one to so bravely and eloquently to take on the slanted academics of our Indian culture. So proud of you!

The most important take-away message and lesson from Rajiv ji in this video, is his cool temper, courage, self-control and rationality in adverse situation. This is the essence of purvapaksha and the intellectual kshatriya attitude, for us to practice. As we see in this dialogue, those with malice and irrational bias hide behind slogans and anonymity.

From this and other events, it should be increasingly clear to Hindus that the so-called mainstream narrative is hopelessly Hindu-phobic, and it is built on shallow foundations. More intellectuals should be inspired to take up research in these areas and expose the obscurantism of the academia.

But individually do not first understand reality of one self. Rajiv has understanding of first himself, then of his own cast, then on the Religion. Now he do not undermine others but 'Demand', not equality but Respect. Hence first we need to be Worthy of that Respect.

Why don't the 'outsider' group leaders such as Pollock or Doniger or other big guns have a debate with Rajiv Malhotra in an open forum moderated by couple of impartial moderators? Can that be because they are afraid of their dishonesty and true colors being exposed? It is sad they are hiding in their ivory towers. May be the prestigious universities they are at should consider if these guys who are afraid of an open debate deserve their jobs.

Rajiv ji's amazing ability to counter these so-called "gate-keepers of human rights", hailing from elite universities, is inimitable! It shows the deep sadhana of this man for decades. What is so striking is his stamina to keep on fighting these battles. Of course, one worries about his health, and I hope other able IKs can fill the void when he takes a break to re-energize himself. That Professor was a stooge and he deserved the treatment meted out to him. If he had been respectful and was seeking a debate then Rajiv ji would have treated him equally respectfully. But then his agenda was to just accuse him and become a hero for his spineless cabal. He got what he cried for. And, as for those two girls, what can I say? All that hatred and ignorance will consume them and make them worthless beings. They will play their stooge role for some time and get planted in these talks, just to rabble rouse. Then a time will come when they realize their whole life had been wasted and how easy it was for these Hinduphobic forces to manipulate their puny brains. I feel sorry for them. Finally, kudos to Rajiv ji for once again demonstrating his great debating skills and spirit of IK.

This is the painful reality we all anglo-Indians face. Rajiv Malhotraji has been doing an excellent effort since the past few years, trying hard wherever possible to raise the sleeping, ignorant giant within all of us fate-pushed anglo-Indians. He desperately awaits for the much-needed rise of the Wave of India's Intellectual Kshatriyas esp from young thinking Indians - both within and outside India - with pulsating Bharat and its Sanatana Dharma at Heart! Friends, even when I have been hooked on to Rajivji and even linked through emails initially, for some personal reasons and entanglements, I was not fully into with him. Now will try hard to also catch up with Rajivji's ideas and efforts.

"The Battle for Sanskrit" by Rajiv Malhotra should be MANDATORY reading in all academic institutions teaching Hinduism and/or Indian philosophy/tradition/social science etc. It really brought forward the urgency of this movement Rajiv has started for India to reclaim what is ours and control the narrative. It's an extraordinary work - I'm looking forward to reading more of his books! He is unapologetic and unforgiving in debate and I LOVE that because when you speak the truth and are armed with FACTS, there is nothing to fear or be apologetic about. So to his challengers and critics, I say, BRING IT!

I am happy Vedic dharma has a person like you fighting for our dharma. You are right that young people or the new generation of Hindus are proud of their culture. The generation who were born right after independence have lost touch with their culture and you are absolutely right by saying that this generation has started imitating the British and were concerned only about making it in the world. The present generation however is not satisfied with such a situation. It is said Narayana murthy and his son funds enemies of Hinduism.

Excellent talk. Rajiv is calm and composed; original in his analysis & ideas, and quick witted when replying. To my mind, he - having been a man of world as an entreprenuer and manager - also brings a practical, common sense, wholistic, perspective to the way he looks at history. This is something that professors who have spent most of their life walking between desks and class-rooms are not as good as. Rajiv is also able to relate better with the Indian socio-cultural milieu than several western scholars. He will be remembered as a man who broght about a significant change in historiography of India.Rajeev

Good to watch another of Rajiv's excellent lectures. Don't the accusers of plagiarism against Rajiv get it that he has confronted this issue head on & dealt with it? Good challenge thrown to Nicholson to bring it up in court. Maybe, the accusers like to have egg on their faces each time they bring this up. Audio quality, barring Rajiv's, is somewhat disappointing.

Why is Buddhism more favorable than Hinduism? Is it because Buddhism seems more secular that Hinduism, and doesn't have a focus on God like Hinduism? As a Buddhist and scholar myself, I'm very interesting in learning more about Hinduism. The school of Buddhism I follow was heavily influenced by Indian philosophy, and so some elements of Hinduism cross-pollinated into the religion. I hope I can learn about this religion without the bias' of the West. This video is absolutely fantastic and discusses and touches upon so many questions I have with Hinduism and the New Age movement. As for Hinduphobia, Westerns would probably call it racism against Indians. My mother is one such person, as she does not like different culture of Indians. She does not like their accents, names, and finds their way of life to be lesser than her. Its very sad. Lastly, is there a desire to keep the religion of Hinduism within the Indian community?

Rajiv Ji was very articulate and awesome!! Also like to appreciate the great job done by the moderator. So many such meetings get derailed by hecklers and he was firm and kept it in control. Also like others have said, Rajiv Ji needs to be take care of his health. This is a stressful work especially with hecklers and professional leftist protestors.

Rajiv Malhotra delivers a insightful and trenchant analysis of western academic establishment. There is a huge need to institute knowledge centers in India, of the stature of Takshashila and Nalanda (not like JNU or TISS), to regain the Hindu civilizational momentum. Kudos to Rajiv-ji on yet another superb lecture, and also great Q&A!

It is unfortunate that the aggressive students could not even pronounce the word 'Hindutva' accurately. They pronounce it as 'Hindatva' with the hard d and hard t, and also with the u as in 'cut', not as in 'put'. They should be ashamed at their incompetence in being unable to even pronounce the word 'Hindutva' before denouncing it vociferously. Is this what their education has been? You may hate your adversary, and seek to mock them, but at least be smart enough to learn not to mispronounce the names, in case you are held up for the ridicule and mockery that you strive to do to others.

i am a westerner who went to india and lived there for 20 years and now has settled in india permanently. Why do i stay in India? Is it because of the material prosperity or politics. Not at all! I stay in India because of the spiritual focus of it's people and the holiness of it's sacred soil.I practice Yoga and follow the teachings of my Gurus.I am a vaidika and by definition espouse Hindutva.Hindutva's out manifestations are temples and Hindu organizations. But the inner Hindutwa is the teaching of the Rishis. Rajivji is combating the convoluted ideas of western Sanskritists who aggrandize Hindu teachings but look down upon Hindu teachers and who have no devotion to Indian culture. They will not step inside of India except to earn money through scholarships and grants and pad their portfilios! They can pontificate to ignorant western Sanskrit students or ignorant Hindu expats but cannot bow their haughty heads to the Hindu scholars and Gurus. An inner animosity dwells within towards Indians and Indian culture. So be it.I am not concerned in the least with them because they have no abiltiy to change anything in India!

Rajiv wins the case for serious debate hands down!!! Refreshing and thought provoking as usual. And beautiful insights in terms of the legacy and traditions of the most ancient civilisation of the world. Truly, it reveals ways of looking at the world that we ALL can benefit from - making us all potentially 'insiders'. Let's face it, the world is in dire need of solutions. I register my vote in favour for this round, Let the debate proceed!

It is interesting to see that a Professor who teach Hindi, Urdu and bit Sanskrit came to ask question of plagiarism without reading the Rajiv Malhotra Book. At the same time it is scary to imagine that what this prof. would be teaching to student. And at last some bunch of idiot students who does not know any thing about human rights, very conservative mind, have very little information about current India. These herd mentality people are very dangerous to any society.
