Probably the best episode of Columbo from my point of view. When Kay is hiding her gun above the lift, even today, after so many years, I'm hypnotized on this extract from the episode. The script is amazing.

Definitely one of my all-time favorite Columbo episodes. Like so many others, I was incredibly impressed by Patrick Williams "Bach-esque" score. And, have been equally disappointed and frustrated by its "unavailability" commercially. Regardless, a magnificent cast, irreplaceable star and a phenomenal score...one could hardly ask for anything else!

I LOVE the old Columbo, and watched it only back in the day. Somehow I must have missed this episode; I don't recall it. I'm gonna have to buy the episodes--what a treat that will be !!

That countdown was ingenious for building up tension and suspense, especially when it was being used in the "real" murder.

Later on, during the murder scene, while Kate is on the way to murder Mark, this music recurs but this time it leads to an almighty and over powering string ensemble. Colombo was perfect in every way!

@TheFrederis It's interesting to see how many people are commenting on the music from this episode. It was also one of the things that stuck out for me too, since I've been into Bach since I was eleven and this music sounds very similar in style to Bach's various concertos.

I remember this episode. The character of Trish van D. really devised a clever plan. She didn't take into account Lt Columbo though.

this was a good one... very dark. acting, script, pace, music, etc. good actress. se fkin hates columbo and he knows it. falks acting was the best in this one. felt like a movie this episode. occasionally the show got good actor villains
