Be sure to make note of the wall clock just inside the front door. It’s from the Frank F. Bonnet jewelry store. The “t” is always pronounced. The family were German immigrants of Huguenot origin.

OMG !!! I didnt know about this place . The Night the Bed Fell is probably my favorite story as well as the one about the maid with the weird dog that coughed (?) . I believe her name was Emma . I wonder if this place is the one where his dog died, in the yard, after waiting for a family member he loved, after waiting for him a long time, then touching him with his nose and falling dead at his feet. That story breaks my heart. He could write about such serious topics and also make us laugh like fools . I have to go see this place and see the attic where "the bed fell" .
