Quick question po engineer. How about yung standard depth & allowable bearing capacity for bungalow house? Planning to design our family house po kasi and galing siya sa lahar bacolor pampanga noong year 1992. Don't know if mag 1.2m depth nalang po ba ako or 1.5m

Hello po sa inyo. Ayon sa building code, 600mm ang minimum na depth at 250mm ang minimum thickness. Ang recommended depth kung para sa bungalow ay 1.00m or deeper. Depende na po sa inyo kung 1.2m or 1.5m ang preferred depth na inyong mapili based on actual site condition.

Hello po Sir tanong ko lang po kung allowable bah na magsplice ng rebars sa matting for footing?or okay lang din bah na double rebars nalang yung substitution like if shorted ka sa 16 mm rebars 2-12 mm rebars nalang po gagamitin. Salamat.

Good Morning po. Tanong ko lang po kung may sinusu od po na distance mula sa top ng reinforcements ng footing hanggang sa pinaka-unang lateral tues ng column? May difference po ba kung ang start ng lateral ties ay sa top na mismo ng concrete ng footing?

Hello po sa inyo. Paumanhin po sa late response. Ito po ay practice na ang hoops ay magsimula at 50mm from the face of joint or support. Sa case ng column ito ay from the top of the footing at sa beam naman ay from the face of the column. Going back to column, ang main reason ay for the confinement of the concrete core which is greatly affects the overall ductile behavior. Sa Section 418 ng NSCP 2015 - Earthquake Resistant Structure, it is stated na ang hoops in colums ay dapat na magsimula below the top of the footing to further increase confinement and for shear resistance. Ito ang practice kung mayroon seismic consideration. Maraming salamat po tiwala at suporta.

Hello po sa inyo. 10mm po ang minimum size ng bakal na ginagamit for stirrups ng beam and lateral ties ng poste.

Depending on the overall structural orientation, I would recommend size 16mm for column. Ang loft houses kasi ay may extended height compared sa bungalow houses dahil mezzanine level or intermediate floor sa loob nito.
