Just found this! Boy did it bring back memories! I used to work in the Golden Goose! Helped Thin Lizzy carry their gear in! Went to school there! Always will love Colwyn Bay! Thanks for recording this! ❤

Just cried my eyes out. I'm 53 now living down south but I grew up there and my teens and coming of age were spent on that pier. The bit where it says about remembering the dance floor, I shouted YES. Then the tears flowed. Thank you for this video. It's really moved me.

Thanks Martin. The film has exactly the same effect on me. I first came to Colwyn Bay in 1973, aged 21, and the Dixieland was my " go to" destination most weekends. Fell in love with Colwyn Bay and never went home. Still here 46 years later!

Great video mate. Glad someone took the time to record this.It should have 1000x the views. I will tell you this though.I am no conspiracy theorist, but the furthest section that has already gone in the video had some..shall we say ...extra help to collapse into the sea a while back.

@@stevecameron4700 I was there that day Steve, and the sound of the music at 7:01 sounded just like the rivets being popped at the seaward end.I WAS THERE mate. Then, next thing it fell into the sea.

So sad. I’ve not been home in 20 years. I use to fall out of here on friday nights legless! It literally feels like the end of an era.

Its like our shopping centres, the end of an era. Use it or Lose it. You cant keep something going that is never used, and life moves on. Sad, but true.

You're kidding me. I remember going to see that back in 96. Wasn't it the only one in Clywdd?

Afraid so. Long drawn out decay through legal wrangles ruined the pier. Lots has been salvaged and there is a prospect of rebuilding.

Shame. In the 60s on our holidays we went on the Piper everynight, chips glass of lemonade a few penny's in the old mechanical slot machines, lots of pictures a d memory's...all gone.
