Thank you for speaking out. You're absolutely right. The biggest reason I am not gonna spend big money on this game is the lack of pity system. I know 10 years ago when SW came out it wasn't the norm for mobile games to have pity system. But now it absolutely is and it's to prevent exactly the scenario you mentioned, spending a few hundred dollar and get absolutely nothing. I did a mass summon before after saving scrolls for 3 months and I think my record was going like 200+ scrolls with 0 nat 5s and under 10 lightning, which is absolutely below average. The same thing can happen to people who spend like $200-$300 buying packs, which would spoil your day for sure.

Anyone who thinks the game is not rigged in your favour when you spent recently is being naive. They would lose a paying customer that way, instead of encouraging him to spend more on the game. Anyone who spends this ammount is their precious boy, and im 100% sure any mobie has implemented mechanisms to not scare him away with saying "thx for ur money here, have your nothing so you never spend again"

Even without spending on the expensive packs, I have majority of the key non LD nat 5s just by playing the game normally and events. Com2us is actually quite generous when it comes to events rewards. LD is the main thing reserved for whales I guess. Even after playing for 10yrs I got like 3 LD5, and i think i am considered lucky 😂

Here in Brazil it is impossible to become competitive due to the price of the packs. A pack worth 100 dollars, here it is around 600 in our currency. This is approximately half of our monthly minimum wage in the country. It's crazy.

I remember getting a talking to by my SO after buying a transcendence scroll pack for $100. I think it was actually $90 because of Amazon points. I did get something good at the time but it was like the 2nd or 3rd time I spent money into the game. I don't regret the purchase but I do sort of regret the time I spent playing since after like 8 years of playing I didn't get an LD 5 and seeing brand new accounts out do my account on day 1 because they scored an LD5 was just too painful to bear any longer.

The rng chances are terrible. I used to spend more money on this game and I got so burnt out of the garbage over the years. I may get the transcendence scroll at the end of the month, but nothing else. That $100 is two fill-ups of gas for my car. But I'm at the point I have most of the water/find/water nat 4 and 5 in the game. At least as far up to the Witcher event collab event. My nat 5s acquisition dropped off after excluding dokaebi lord. I ended up with all 3 elements. I'm still bitter over the hacker collab and grinding my butt off for every free school I could get and I barely even got a Cyborg and no hacker. So listen to SeanB. Grinding to maximize event currency for f2p scrolls is also a burnout for garbage. It stinks when your transcendence scroll gives you duplicates to choose between with a blessing. But that's where I'm at these days. The rune's from events have been just as garbage for me. 90% of legendary runes are a flat stat on slots 2/4/6. And a sub stat of the one you want where it can't be powered up.

Honestly refreshing to see somebody who is big in the community saying something like this. I quit in part years ago due to how much i found myself spending. Sure it was fun to be pushing G1 and be competitive at a higher level - but i kept looking at not having enough money for other things i wanted to do. Treat this game as pure losing money gambling. 5:20 ah yes that's me, played since first year released, reached G3 in everything (technically I'm washed already nowadays, can barely get C1-C2 arena & RTA with 70% win rate). cleared every content there is. Finally last year (9th year of playing) i got my first LD5, Artamiel while staying filthy f2p. So, i quit for 6 months. what a good feeling then i came back to play some of the anniversary event earlier this year, got Shizuka and Nana, poke here and there but i can safely say i am at peace and will never came back for regular play. To everyone who's struggling to quit, just know that there's hope

Some pay like 50€ for a Evening in Cinemar (Regional Cinemar Movieticket is 30€, drink/Food is around 20€), but half to year later u can buy whole Movie as DVD for way less and an addition to it they for free in TV after 1-2 Years. Then other pay 100€ and way more for Restaurant, when at same time u can buy food for way less. Other in Rollercoaster, Holidaytrip, .... The MOST important there is, can u spend this money without any issue, my Grandparents say "If u can burn right now a 100€ and have no bad feeling in missing it in ur Pocket, THEN u can do this type of stuff for 100€" Its often the same, for a short time we have fun/feel happy, but week after we have the Memory's and this is what we paying in longterm.... I mean where is reason buy an Flower when most dead after week :)

Agreed, I remember when I was in middle school playing and the game was like a year old or less and even getting one scroll was a challenge now they throw them at you like they’re nothing. It took me 2 and a half years to get my first five star and it was chiwu of all things. Now you can get five stars like they’re nothing. I did all the fusions before my first five star too. If you don’t summon for a month you will have a few hundred scrolls. Cause I’m saving and it’s been half a year and I have over 3000.

I honestly enjoy spending some money when I like a game - example dota 2 for cosmetics, which btw they look dope - (I'm not a whale nor anything like that, just a simple man that from time to time spend money in games if worth it for me), and I started to play summoner war a week ago and man I really enjoy the game despite be a mobile one. But man, I never saw in my life any other store as much expensive and overprice as Summoner Wars. Nothing absolutely nothing worth the price to spent a peny in the shop and it's why I decided to be a F2P user all the way around. It's a pity because they could reach a lot of more people that enjoy spending some but not getting crazy about it. I don't know why's the decision to make an store so over price, the 250 pink crystal cost 10USD, and you know what you can do with 250 crystal? Nothing at all that makes a real impact in the gamethrough. In any other game with 10USD you can access to a lot of cool stuffs. But well.. let's don't forget SW is just a gatcha game designed just to waste money in it. So I guess they did all right after all.

Buying packs in summoners war is like buying lottery tickets. You can win big, very very rarely. But most of the time you will just walk away broke and disappointed.
