Gaerea is one of my favorite modern black metal bands. I liked this new album more than Mirage and I think it’s almost as good as Limbo. They have such a beautiful and melancholic approach to black metal and are one of the best Portuguese metal bands alongside Moonspell.

I have never been able to get into black metal although Ive been a big fan of the blackened influence in other genres in modern metal. But this album is incredible and the poets ballet in my opinion one of the best songs this year of any genre. Great review and analysis!

glad gaerea have been promoted to having a full blown review video. tho, i'm not too excited about this album, wasn't a huge fan of the singles, loved the last album tho. edit: gaerea will forever hold a special place in my heart for being THE band that got me interested in black metal. just to add.

I listened to this album back last Monday thanks to their Bandcamp listening party and I was really impressed with it! The new vocalist is veeeeery solid, too. Can’t wait to see them perform for the second time opening up for Zeal & Ardor next month!

not exactly sold on the new sound. i don't think it's just the new vocalist, it's something more. you can tell they're moving in a different direction and have apparently stated as much which frankly makes me a little sad. limbo and mirage are some of the hardest hitting things i've ever listened to in this genre period. this album is still a hit and deserves more listens from me. i just can't shake that bummed out feeling i've had since the singles.

Good vocals, great drumming, but I could do without the pretty, melodic guitar style.
