In early 1858, Captain John “RIP” Ford led a detachment of Texas Rangers, along with their Native American allies, on a punitive expedition deep in the heart of Comancheria. Their mission was to catch the Comanche unaware and prove they could strike them in their own backyard. What followed is known as the Battle or Campaign of Antelope Hills aka the Battle of Little Robe Creek. So glad you covered this story. I live just over the state line in Texas about 30 miles from this battle. I have been all over the area and have been telling this story of little robe creek to friends of mine. Hardly anybody i talk to have ever heard of this battle or about iron jacket. So many battles took place in this area. Many like this one seem to be fading away from memory. Glad that you are keeping history alive. Well done.

Well Josh the other day I was listening to a True Crime Channel and I saw where they actually killed this girl after they took some pictures of her in the cage. She was sleeping in the doorway of a trailer and the guy whose trailer it was (her ex-husband) called up his partner in crime and the other guy came over and her baby daddy I hate saying that held her feet while the other guy choked her to death then the other guy took her to his house where he did put her in a cage and he uploaded four pictures of her in the cage half dressed. I guess he wanted to show the picture to his customers so they would know who they were eating, you know cuz she was pretty. Somebody sent these pictures to somebody else who took them to the law and the law came out and of course the guy had his freezer full of human meat. Both the man got arrested and they haven't been to court yet but the fact that this man actually has a website on the dark web of course but he has a website where he actually sells human meat. I'm sorry I just had to say that after hearing you mention cannibalism😊😊

The vast majority of Comanches died due to smallpox. That historical context of clinical epidemiology is often ignored in regards to military campaigns against Comanches by whites who want to glorify the Texas Rangers. A modern analogy is the vast majority of films about the Vietnam War that ignore Agent Orange.
