These grow boxes may work, but the last time I checked, they cost around $35 in the USA. You need to get prices down to one or two dollars to get developing countries to adopt so we can plant a trillion trees. Perhaps sell a mould that locals can melt down plastic garbage to make them.

The groasis water boxes work very well. I planted 50 fruit trees last spring in dry California and they’ve still got enough water. Supposed to rain tonight! Trees doing well. One problem in cattle rangelands is trees can’t regrow because cattle eat them. Would be great to protect the trees and then establish them. We use $130 round bale feeder with rebar stakes to help protect the trees and the groasis box can avoid need for drip irrigation.

@@charlienatera467 if you’re in gopher country one caveat. Leave a 4” gap in the soil around the Groasis box. Otherwise the gophers seem to be attracted to the growbox. They burrow underneath and eat the tap root even with gopher wire.

very impressive. Thank you for the verbal explanation of deep root versus superficial.

There are 3 main parts in the "Groasis" that aid nature and greatly increase the tree/bush survival rate. 1. The water reservoir. 2. The slow release of water, as needed, by the wick. 3. A shield that prevents predation, evaporation, and harmful rays. Combined, these innovations allow plants to grow anywhere their roots can reach the water table. Buying saplings is not necessary, in fact, not recommended do to the harm done to their roots starting out in small pots. Note: Research will teach you how to make your own "plant womb". Suggestion: Use a biodegradable (paper product?) container home built that lasts 1-3 years, recharge with water as needed, and save work/time/money.
