it's like catch but focus primarily on control, pushing down opponents, and generates pain through the push. also if the combat glima competition allows submission it could be much more popular than bjj. Because people would grow tired with the classic sitting guard instead of wrestle it down while on standing. With glima rules where you have stand up while your enemies are on the ground, all of those ground guard bullshit will be thrown out of the window and fighters are forced to stand up and wrestle...just like real fighting!

Ask around your local sca hema and reinactment groups. Chances are theres "That one guy" so to speak whos thing is norse combat most medieval reinactment groups know one. Chances are theres one or two within two hours of you and you dont even realize it.
