This is the type of footage that deserves to be seen, not just 5 minute clips of guys shooting guns and rpgs. Combat patrols are stressful, PID is stressful, communication is stressful. It's a hard job, being in combat. Most of it is stressing.

I think it’s important to remember that Combat is not like Movies or Video Games. It’s a good thing we have people like Civ Div showing what happens on the field when an active war is going on. Combat/Recon Patrols show the immense amount of stress one can undergo just from walking out in a open field just to get to your next objective. Remember, before you sign up, be sure you know this is what YOU want to do.

its insane to think that this will be here for future generations to learn from something so easy to see. when ww2 was happening most engagements werent recorded because they didnt have the tech and cameras we do now and now history is wayyy more visual than it used to be and will be easy to see what we watched happen in real time. Hope everyone is safe and Get Home Safe Brothers We Are All Watching And Praying for you guys.
@rylandavis2976
@rylandavis2976 Жыл бұрын
This is actually false. Pretty much everything in ww2 was recorded. Every company had a dude with a camera who recorded all sorts of stuff. Lots of stuff was released as propoganda and some has been released after the fact for historical purposes. But 99.9% of it is sitting in an archive somewhere and has never been watched. More and more is being released all the time. Simply go on KZbin and search a battle with "footage" after the fact. You will find tons and tons of combat footage. And it is all real. I'd recommend the title "battle of Midway (1942) war footage"
@rylandavis2976
@rylandavis2976 Жыл бұрын
Even for WW1 there is a surprising amount of footage. Not very much, but it does exist and it's very very low quality. But for ww2 there is a metric f ton of footage and most of it is pretty decent quality but the filmography tech of the time has a very different emotionally quality and makes the entire scene feel extremely unreal and eerie
@More_Row

@@rylandavis2976 it's false to say every company had a dude recording. That's surely false, there was a lot of things filmed. But for propaganda, and usually the battles themselves weren't filmed but aftermath and simulated battles for further training. There are a few clips from the big battles though during fighting. Also some very interesting gun cams from planes, but nothing like it is now with wearable small cameras.

at 7:51 you can see a hole in the engine cover of the bmp (which has been opened and is sticking up in the air), in the previous video when the NLAW hits you see it hit the same area which happens to also be the engine compartment and so that likely explains the mobility kill as the hit destroyed the engine. This could be something else and when he gets closer it looks as though another mark is just below the clear hole so it might not be the exact hit location.
@winstonsyme7672

Good spot. Nailed the engine dead center. NLAW in top attack mode would have been the one to do it. That probably meant no power either and no ability to use most things on the vehicle and return effective fire.

There are definitely issues where different nationalities are joined together in a unit. Even if all members are trained military their drills and procedures can differ. They may also have non military members. There can be language barriers too with people misunderstanding orders. I've been in similar situations in the past and it's stressful as hell and not being able to rely on other members of your unit definitely compromises your effectiveness.

Awesome footage. Safety discipline should be stressed though. No matter what your level of experience is, there’s a right way and wrong way with everything. God speed to everyone involved.

I thought the same, don't think the safety went on once. Only takes a slight trip, like that guy did in the mud and you've shot your oppo

Seeing the German perspective from the start of the war until the end would have been absolutely mind blowing. Especially due to the large change in location, armaments, tactics and the overall strategic situation from the start of the war compared to near the end.

The patrolling was excellent footage.. like we were with them. It also puts everything into context, seeing an uninterupted passage of time from one location or event to another. Thanks so much CD. You're efforts and contributions mean so much in the documentation of everything the ukrainians and additional international troops have had to do to fend off those Ruzzian bastards.
