Combating Cults with Steven Hassan

Dr. Hassan has probably saved my life. I read his books many years ago. Also, I called and he answered. I had moved back to California after years of absence in another state. I was desperate to understand the changes in behavior I was experiencing from others. (I was raised in California.) He helped me very, very, very much. Mother was alive then and I needed HELP, because she was a different generation of course. She only experienced the changes in subtle ways and couldn’t explain it fast enough to help us. She coped by building fences, and more of that type reinforcement…. Thank you again, Dr. Hassan. Deeply from my heart “thank you.”

Dr Hassan’s book is a masterpiece of psychology. I feel saying it’s a masterpiece is simply not enough to describe how powerful his book is in describing cult psychology and also human psychology and behaviors.

I’ve said the same thing Stephen has heard from born-in cult members. I was a born in JW and my husband joined at 19. When he can’t understand the depth of my trauma and confusion, I explain that he has something to go back to. But I never had anything else.

First thank you both for trying to help others to exit JW cult or any cult ! The question is if we can successfully escape the matrix of cults of this world.Every human being is individual unit of conscientiousness operating on technology of believe .And believe is enemy of knowing ! Majority of us based or lives mostly on believes, theories, thesis, ideais, doctrines ,paradigms,models,studies "science" which was pass on us by consensual authority .We were programmed by this system/society/education voluntarily recognize this bodies /institutions as authority thus the phenomena of institutional conformity/mass formation.Mr.Hassan mention that cults exist in politics as well .Good news :-) So on which leaders of which states he would apply his approach? I bet he would make his own list by criteria and methods he believe are correct. At the same time he did not want to talk about cult of "beer bug" because he is science guy and science can't behave as a cult because its always only empirical and never political driven by some agenda.There are no records of academic dishonesty or misconduct or agenda of rich or influential people or corporations to finance and than benefit of some research .Academics fields are not corruptible. So if WHO say something all must "listen and obey" because its most credible scientific body in the world to deal with our health and they only have one objective to keep world population healthy. Plus they have impeccable record ,no corruption there :-). I wonder after two years pass if Mr.Hassan would be willing to reexamine his opinions by current mounting evidence from many countries and renown health experts on the cult tactics of this "beerbug zealots believers" which was forced on millions because its safe and effective.Wasn't this cultish behaviour ? Also at the end he didn't forgot to emphasized and remind : Do not believe in conspiracies. Of course because all conspiracies are created only by some "hillbilly from nowhere". The big brother or any other "revered credible institutions" and governing bodies in this world never conspired against its own citizens.If you believe in such you are maybe "mentally sick apostate" citizen. Doesn't this rhetoric or patterns resemble to something ? The bottom line is if you put unquestionable trust in anyone and anything in matrix of human affairs without critical,sceptical thinking you becoming just a blind follower , drone and there is not to much of difference as being in a cult member. Its nice to know where we came from but be careful where you are going ! Pattern recognition its a skill . HPL to ALL !

I was surprised and satisfied to hear cult expert Stephen Hassen rank JW is a nine out of 10 on a cult severity scale. I wonder where he would rank Mormons. Because, even though there are many similarities, my observation is that JW‘s are much more traumatized and messed up after leaving.

The dynamic with couples and cult is very good and seldom discussed. What if or when wife wakes up and makes her issue with the JWs known to the elders or even bigger crowd. Then the elders come to her husband and ask, why is he not keeping discipline in his household. Now, husband can side with the elders and risk losing his wife, or side with his wife and risk losing cult. Adam and Eve type of situation. Or even worse, try to find a middle road and anger them both.

Go buy avalid bible english translation. KJV, NASB, ESV, NIV etc. except those used by cults bec. they have changed some scriptures.

To begin with, Steven Hassan is a bad example. He has gone to weird ramblings about hypno porn and trans people. Expert have criticized his bite-model. I prefer the speeches about mass formation psychosis of professor Mattias Desmet.

I like how Steven side-steps Kim's good question about CV and the mass mind control during CV like he always does. He had a few mins but avoided the subject. It was kind of a big deal. I think Steven is a leading cult expert, but his strong political bias interferes with his objective thinking. The government, the media, and NIH used mass manipulation and obvious cult tactics on the mass population lying about so many things involving CV. I find it disingenuous that Steven wont even comment a little on anything that criticizes Democrats. He is more of a political nut job than a doctor. Its not about being pro or anti medical. it's about the government colluding to censor and control information dishonestly. Gaslighting the public and knowingly lying to us just like Watchtower has done to us. Scientists should be honest and objective, not politically bias....unless your name is Fauci apparently. I have lost respect for Steven over this attitude.
