Soybean cyst nematode (SCN) is a devastating pathogen in soybeans. Researchers are now able to watch the genomes of worm populations change in response to their soybean hosts. Information on the SCN genome as well as new strategies for utilizing native genes to combat SCN that has evolved to overcome current genetic resistance mechanisms such as those found in PI 88788 and Peking are presented.
