This top 8 was sick! Especially that Felicia player in GF. The first tournament I ever saw for this was last month and I am in love. I really want to learn how to play this game. It definitely deserves more love.

i never got into SF, but if they come out with a new Darkstalkers game, i would definitely buy, i like the whole design and theme of the game, with fantasy creatures, vampires, zombies, etc, much more interesting than a bunch of martial artist fighters from SF

Not sure which title is more prominent, but since the commentators went by "Vampire Savior" I'm sticking to how it's known in Japan.

These aren't really the same thing. Vampire Savior is the original Japanese arcade release of the game, while Darkstalkers 3 is the PSX port. The two have different character rosters and wildly different balance (hence why people still play the oldest version of the game, and why VSav was the one ported to Darkstalkers Resurrection). When somebody refers to DS3, they usually mean the game itself, and not any version in particular, but when they say VSav, they explicitly mean the original release.
