If anyone's interested, Jerimiah (aka Jeri/jeritheog) and NaN have been evangelists for BR for at least a few years now. Jeri, NaN, and Nubi (another high-level player, one of the best in the community) had a community decision to go to the tourney organizers to change the bracket from BR Primal Fury on original hardware to BR Extreme on Dolphin, for accessibility reasons--like being able to select Fang for P1 & P2 simultaneously, and using different controllers. Which speaking of, fun fact, NaN usually uses a SNES controller to play Extreme, but she had to bust out her backup PS4 pad because the former wasn't working. If y'all wanna see more high-level BR Extreme, Jeri/NaN both stream it regularly. This game looks so good for its time and it looks AMAZING at high-level. I want to see more of this. Used to love playing this game. To think it was so much more complex at that level, and it give an amazing back-and-forth feel for two players of relatively equal skill. This stuff is hype.

Fun fact, Fang is Yugo's manga equivalent from the rather obscure Bloody Roar: The Fang. It's... not quite based on the games? I say "not quite" because it shares the name and the zoanthrope element but pretty much nothing else.

Bought it for gamecube years later, and still love it to this day, even though I suck at it. Great to see people still playing it.

Bloody roar has a lot of jump cancel and animation cancels which was pretty impressive for 3D fighter. They nerfed a lot of the pressure and combos with Extreme though.

@@turbokiller they are using rhe dolphin emulator to play the japanese version of Bloody Roar Extreme. Jerimiah put up a tutorial on youtube about how to emulate it. It should be easy to find.

If 8ing's not on it, we don't need it. I get tired of people suggesting NRS, Namco, or Arcsys to work on it. If NRS worked on it, it'd be too stiff, and graphic, like, more than it needs to be, since BR has a nice balance of realism with its own twist. Namco would just make it as slow as Tekken which would be disgusting, and with ARCSYS, it's hard to imagine it as a full 3D fighter with their usual art style or graphics. Just outsource it to Eighting / 8ing. They're the original developers. BR is a fast paced fighting game, and I feel if developers that aren't familiar with the nuances, details, and mechanics of the series, it will not turn out well. BR4 is the perfect example of what NOT to do to a Bloody Roar game, though honestly Konami may have played a part in that game's rushed development, or Kenji Fukuya, the series director, just had horrible ideas, then 4 came out the way it was. Have 8ing or 8ing ALONG with people that are knees-deep / familiar with Bloody Roar behind the development, otherwise it's gonna flop.

I loved playing Bloody Roar: Primal Fury on my cousin's OG Xbox back in the day (I'm under 28, and I understand what Bloody Roar is 🤣🤣). The OST for this game was great. Konami likely won't do it, but a revival or a collection of the games like what Capcom is doing would be amazing. Fun fact: the announcer for this game is the same guy who voiced the Colonel in MGS2.
