As a Revenant (Herald to be precise) I have no problems breaking bars. Staff 5, hammer 5, Shiro and Glint elites. Often staff 5 is enough but that ofc depends on the difficulty of the mob / boss. Revenants are great for CC and it is my main so maybe that's why I struggle with some of the other professions when alting. I find myself eyeing through the descriptions to find a suitable CC to use. Anyways, thanks for a great guide. Just lured one of my besties into the game so he got a link too.

Yes, finally someone who said the right color! Everybody keeps calling it a blue bar and I'm trying to find where the hell is the blue bar because that sure isn't a blue bar! Also thanks. I thought the hearts meant it was healing but turns it was combo finishers. This is gonna be useful knowledge.

I knew breakbars, but not the combos, yet. I read in the wiki, but some things remain unclear, regarding the effects of the combo finishers. For example from a dark field I can have 4 different effects as the finisher, depending on which finishing move I use. 1. Area Blindness seems understandable. It just causes blindness to every (?) mob within the field's area for 3 seconds, ok? 2. Dark Aura causes every enemy that hits you during the 5s to suffer from torment. Is this right? 3. Lifesteal seems clear in what it does, but there's no explanation how often this is done to how many enemies. 4. Same for Leeching Bolts: How many targets do thes bolts hit? How often are such bolts shot? Just once? 5. And regarding the light field: 6. Area Cleanse Condition - on whom? You and your pet/minions within the field? Or allies? Or all of them? 7. Light field: Reduced damage from and retaliation to any enemy that hit's you within 5 seconds. 8. Remove condition: Question again is: On whom? Only myself? 9. Cleansing bolts: How many and which friendly targets are affected by this? 10. And the general range for those effects that are actually moving away from your own position on: Is it the same as the size of the field? 11. You said I could not finish comboes with fields from enemies, this seems logica. But what about fields from allies? Other players? NPCs? And naturally occuring' fields? 12. Is the length and/or the intensity of any/all these effects actually modified by any buffs/debuffs? Thank you for your tutorials! :)

1. Yep, you're correct 2. That is correct, with a 1-second cooldown per attacker 3. The lifesteal is with a projectile finisher, so it would be a little more damage to the target you shot, and a small heal for you if it connects (not blocked, etc). This would only hit the target the projectile connected to, not area of effect. 4. I dug through the wiki, the whirl finisher leeching bolts are EACH about 90% the strength of a projectile leeching combo, however whirl projectiles fire randomly, there isn't a guarantee they will hit, but you COULD hit someone many times with it if you are lucky. 5. ok 6. Area cleanse condition effects allies, I'm not sure if there is a maximum number of targets, but it is at least 5. I use it when supporting in groups as mentioned in the video quite often. 7. yep 8. On you, there isn't going to be a combo that cures conditions from your enemies. So if you see something vague like "remove boon" thats on the bad guy and "remove condition" would be on yourself 9. The number would depend on the whirl finisher, I think its safe to assume at least 6-8 on average, and they can cleanse any ally hit by them. They won't affect enemies. 10. Had to wiki that one! blast finishers are 360 radius from the blast, projectile finishers are to the target only, or in some cases allies within 240 radius of the target. 11. you can use allies combo fields. When playing Druid I make a lot of water fields, I constantly see "healing bolts!" over it when allies are fighting in the fields, and they aren't even trying to combo. NPCs that are not hostile to you, I would think you can use them but I can't think of ever trying to do that. I cannot think of a naturally occuring combo field off the top of my head. 12. I believe so. Fire combos apply burning, that should scale with condition damage. And the wiki does specifically say that the life stealing bolts (which I looked up just a moment ago) scale with power. I'm not positive if that is boosted by buffs like "might" but definately uses your stats.

Wow! Thank you very much for your effort and these comprehensive answers! So as a rule of thumb I will remember to take the actuall style of the finishing move into consideration regarding the shape and kind of the additional field effect. That alone would answer most questions, maybe besides some details. :)

Its quite important to note that the ingame skill description of breakbar skills are completely off. Some skills don't mention breakbar damage while actually doing it, other skills get their personal+aoe attack stacked as breakbar damage. Best to just read all your class specific skills on the wiki to be 100% sure about the breakbar damage.

I think the game is a bit confusing regarding this, isn't it? The finishing moves from the gem store/BlackLion are just graphical effects. But the combo finishers from the URLs Mukluk wrote are another thing with an actual gameplay effect.

Seems that mesmer(chrono) doesn't have very many cc abilites, so I always have to rely on my team to break the bars. Greatsword 5 is the only one I have in my build.

Not to cast aspersions, but 1 of the Ads I saw before the video started involved domestic abuse. It was about a mobile game called mobile legends. Wife/gf could not get Husband/bf's attention away from game. So she physically assaulted him. Giving him black eye. Then stole his game. The Ad ends with them playing the game together on their phones as if the black eye is nothing. That's NOT okay. Omg. Shit like that always makes me imagine role-reversal version. If the man had punched his woman and given her a black eye. Then the next scene shows them playing happily together. Wife ignoring her black eye. The Ad would have been taken down for sure!
