Some years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Emma at Benslow Music School. Unfortunately she had a throat problem so could not sing for us .Nevertheless it was nice to have a chat with this lovely lady , so friendly too. Keep singing Emma !

It is as if the very soul of England's Golden Age is embodied by her. Because Kirkby lives her songs, she gives us to live them. No one will ever surpass her.

What an honor it must have been to have the great Emma Kirby singing with this fine ensemble, the American lutenist singing the bass part is excellent also, and of course I have nothing but praise for the rest of the ensemble also with the instrumental part of this fine song without the singing.

@@andrewc4606 Thank you! Of course, it was a great honor to get to know Emma as a colleague (first in a recording in Krakow) and then to become friends. Thank you for the praise of all of my excellent colleagues in this concert: Mikhal Gondko and Domen Marincic.

what a touching, beautiful rendering of this old, so sweet and at the same time bitter song by Dowland. It seems such a typical song by this composer and I loved singing it - but this is simply amazing in its purity and sincerety. Wonderful playing too; the combination of accompaniment with my all-time (soprano) love Emma K & your fabulous bass are spinning me into this new day - thank you. Kiki
