But unlike Vermont whos Republic was born out of spite, and Texas Republic was declared because they knew they were different from the rest. If any state out there could survive on its own, only Texas could.

As a seventh generation Texan, I smile when I consider they slaughtered us in Gonzales, they marched us out into the field and executed us at Goliad. We were vastly outnumbered at the Alamo and we were overrun. They executed us . and by the time we got to San Jacinto. We won our independence in a 15 minute battle. TO THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS !!!!!

There are two instances I can immediately think of throughout American history and rights to arms. The Battle of Athens and the Roof Koreans. The Battle of Athens saw WW2 veterans return to their homes in Etowah County, TN to rebel against the corrupt police department which had confiscated a ballot box. The Roof Koreans defended their community in LA when nobody else would, and many of them were Marine veterans too. Both times the 2nd Amendment lent itself where needed, and both times people and rights were protected as a result.
