Come beachcombing for Sea Glass - AMAZING finds on a secret SEAHAM beach!

Hello! Welcome back to Welsh in Wellies -or welcome if you're new here! I'm Francesca and this channel is all about my seaglass hunting and mudlarking adventures with my salty sea dog, Bear.
In this video, I am back in Seaham but this time visting a far less well-known spot - Hawthorn Hive! Pirate Glass, opalescent glass and giant bubbly chunks make up just some of this amazing haul. This beach definitely surprised me!

Those are some lovely bubbles you found! I love your laugh, I find myself smiling every time I hear it, that's a precious gift. Poor Bear, she'll be sorry to miss adventures with you, my pup is 16 and I see her happiness when I take her hiking, and her pain when we come back. Being a fur baby Mom isn't easy. There looked like a piece of sea pottery just as you picked up the chunky glass piece at 20:12. That is an amazing round chunky piece of amber at 26:30, if I wore jewelry, I'd buy it.

The glass is all so well-worn, and I especially love the bubbles! The big aqua bubble was my favorite! Bear is such a sweet dog!! Is there a path down to this beach, or did you just have to scramble? Thanks for an amazing outing!! Take care! 🙏❤️

There’s a path but it’s very steep and windy. It goes under the vid it. There’s also steps the other side of the beach but they’re practically vertical!

Hey. I need some advice. When coming to hunt seaglass, should I wear waterproof boots or will hoka shoes be ok? Coming from the US so have to pack the boots- will do if you think it will help me alot. thanks!

Absolutely wellies are essential! But you can buy them here and save space in your case!

Have you ever gotten cut off by the tide coming in stranding you on the beach? 😮

No I’m very very careful and always make sure I’m aware of what the tide is doing. No sea glass is worth the risk ❤️

Shippersea Bay is extremely dangerous to access. A woman was airlifted to hospital trying to access it.

Yes the goat track that leads down from the cliffs is treacherous. You can get to it from Hawthorn Hive at low tide but that carries its own risks too - being cut off and the walk is very rocky!

@Welsh in Wellies Im very aware of the dangers and would never attempt to access it. The rocks at low tide are very treacherous, and a guy broke his ankle going over them. This area should not be promoted.
