Anyways, i just learned that the more Odds you place, Lower House Edge. Like 100x's Odds is almost 0% house edge. But i don't think i would risk over 3x's odds, especially at a $25 Craps table.

I was playing at Barona where they use Cards: A,2,3,4,5,6 and the two dice rolled those numbers you add up the 2 cards. Some times it's good like easier to win the Hard bets or easier to get the 2 & 12 on Field Bets. I lost many times on Field but some shooters are hot on Field Numbers so i wait until it hits 1 or 2 times then i start betting on Field. It's Triple Pay on 12 at Barona, but Pechanga in Temecula is Double on Both 2 & 12 (Greedy Casino). I will start betting on Come and lay Odds from now on. Mostly when I'm throwing dice as i can throw longer than some of the random throwers.

I like to use place bets to "prime the pump" for come bets with odds. By this I mean that I will either make place bets on the six and eight, or sometimes on all the inside numbers and work them on the come out roll, or I will make place bets after a point has been established, and also make a come bet (when a point is set). When the come bet moves to a number that I have place, I will take down the place bet. This gives me the best of both worlds. I get paid the first time a number I have placed hits, then get paid on the come bets and odds if it hits again. I am making fewer of the higher house edge place bets that I would with a pure place bet strategy. This has a bit higher house edge than a come bet only strategy, but will get you ahead on a much shorter roll. Placing the five and nine is less desirable than placing the six and eight, as the five and nine place bets have a pretty steep house edge.
@wiseman41602 жыл бұрын
Hi Russ I'm new to Craps and the idea of doing a place bet after a shooter gets a 4 or 10. I don't like doing place bet or true odds then because those are the worst point a shooter can get. Your thoughts?
@brizzlex19192 жыл бұрын
@@wiseman4160 It's the worst points for probability to come before 7 but the odds pays the best on those numbers since they are harder to hit. So you get paid according to the higher risk to seven out on 4 and 10. It's 2:1 for odds and 9:5 for place bets.

@ryanwarner50063 жыл бұрын
Yep, you sure can. But you don't get a chance to win on the 7/11 on your first roll. Which if you do the math versus the come/pass bets makes them slightly worse bets in terms of house edge. Think about it, if you bet the 6 there are 5 ways to win on the first bet and 5 ways to win moving forward. If you do a come/pass bets you have 6 ways to win on the first roll and 5 ways to win moving forward if 6 is the point. If you play odds on the come/pass line bets things even get better house edge wise.

Two of my favorite strategies are conservative version of both a come bet and place bet system. I like a pass line bet and 1 come bet with 2x or true 3-5 x odds. I start locking up a small win when i'm up $50-$60 and steadly lock up a little each win until I get to $100. With place bets, I like to place the 6 and 8 and regress to half on both as soon as I hit either one. I start doing half press after I hit 2 or 3 more hits on either. Again I start locking up a little win once I get up $50-$60 and I shoot for a $100 win.... then go play a small poker tournament or a juicy 1-2 game on the strip.

@MrZola12346 жыл бұрын
I know it's an independent trial game and it doesn't matter, so it's mostly off of my mood. I play the pass and 1 come about 75% of the time it's a better bet, I try the place bet usually if I lose a couple times with the pass/come. What is your favorite conservative grind a moderate win with low- risk strategy?
@MrZola12346 жыл бұрын
You know what I really would like is to find a way to play an oscar's grind or a cancelation strategy with the pass/come or don't pass/don't come low vig bet? Little more of a per session bankroll needed, but I think you could enjoy a lot of winning sessions and trips if you could work it out.

I do get wrapped up in the house advantage when I decide how to play. But you make a good point about Place bets in that you can pick and choose which numbers to place, directing how much action you want at any given time and can take the bets down when you want. Also, for us that are fairly new to craps, it can be a bit confusing to see where your come bet is when its moved and to remember to add odds to it. Place bets are almost bet-it-and-forget-it in terms of betting and figuring out what's going on at the table. So, I'm now more open to Place bets than before. You also make a valid point about the size of your bankroll. Losing only $22 on four place bets is less stressful than losing more from the Come and Odds bets when they fail. It's both financially and mentally draining I find.

Usually I will play come/don't come, then just play odds. The come/don't or the pass/don't pass will eliminate themselves out except for the odd 12 where I will lose the table min, but then everything else is at true odds. Also min odds can be different than min bet at some casinos. My local casino had a 10$ min bet, but 5$ was min odds. Since my come/don't come count as 20$ bet, I can put my 5$ odds on that, and pretend it is a 5$ table again pretty much. So it is something to ask for those high min bet tables. If you have a 15$ min bet table, but it is still 5$ min odds then you can play it this way like a 5$ table. They don't advertise the min odds amount, but if you ask they will let you know, only thing is make sure to put a min of 6$ on the 5/9 due to 3/2 payout. Basically this way on a long roll continuously playing come/don't come and pass/don't pass and putting min bets the most you are at risk is 32$ accross, and will get true odds on any wins. For low stakes, this is a nice strat, and you can press up from there if you like, knowing your getting true odds. The house edge here is the odd 12 that will come along and take your come/pass bet every 1/36 rolls. Otherwise you are playing at true odds with little money.

You said one line around 6min mark that tells everything you need to know about place vs come bets. "It's a 0% HE bet, but you're least likely to win" This is the fallacy of all the guys who purely rely on mathematical odds to decide what the best bet is. They don't give you free house edge. The house edge is low on come odds, because they want to entice you to make a bet that you are unlikely to win. The house does not need a mathematical edge on a bet that they will win the heavy majority of the time. Very few people seem to understand the difference between probability and likelihood. Even if you can get a table with 100x odds, you are still relying on a table where most players roll above the statistical norm of around 3 for you make any profit. At the average of 3 rolls, you're losing quite a bit of money in between lucky hot rolls where repeaters get hit.

Love your work, my good man, but the logic you used in this video is strikingly similar to what John Patrick used to vomit forth in the '90s with his collection of Craps videos and it remains flawed to this day. Every time I hear, "the 6 and the 8 are what the Come bettor would want!" I literally laugh out loud, yell at the TV and/or facepalm. Why? Because it completely sidesteps the whole point of the Come bet: 7 and 11 win on the initial roll, a huge edge on that one roll. Don't forget that benefit, that's damn near everything. I don't think this is extremely complicated: In general, people just want the shooter to roll for a long time. Hell, many times, they don't even care if the shooter eventually 7s out, as they have likely made some money, often from multiple bets. A 7, even though it's advantageous for the Come bettor on that one bet, isn't usually in the strategy, it just clears the board. As such, most just go with the shooter, go on the Pass, usually with odds and perhaps a hard way, place several bets and hope the shooter just rolls for a long ass time.
