Fruits Basket honestly got me through middle school. I begged my mom to buy me the whole manga set (thankfully she did), and I still reread them every year. Fruits Basket was literally the show and manga I'd turn to when I couldn't sleep in middle school (happened a lot). It's just so near and dear to my heart, and I'm glad more people are finding it through the reboot

OMG Hannah we gotta talk! Huge fan of Wotakoi and Fruits Basket! Read all of FB back in Junior year of high school and started collecting the tankebons from Barnes n Noble like your edition. Wotakoi is all about those two main characters that get together and try to bond over something else other than being an otaku(nerd). So instead of talking about anime, manga, cosplay, otome games etc they have to find a way to hold a relationship other than that likeness that they both share. It's super fun, cutesy and wholesome. The characters are all loveable. Im only on the third compilation volume lol🙈

Your lie in April is AMAZING!! I haven't read the manga either but I love the anime so much😭😭 This was a such a nice video! If you're looking to read more romance manga I'd definitely recommend Bloom Into You. It's about two high school girls who fall in love but also about self discovery and learning to love yourself. There *is* an anime adaptation but it's only one season and doesm't include the whole story, so the only way to get the whole thing is reading the manga. It's SO GOOD THOUGHHHH

Love Fruits Basket and Wotakoi! Some good classic Shoujo (without an anime 😭): Basara, From Far Away, Red River Some other great shoujo manga with animes: Ao Haru Ride, Gakuen Alice, Orange. Fruits Basket’s mangaka also has another series called Twinkle Stars that is also really good!

My daughter and I are watching Fruits Basket together. She watched it first and I was slowly watching it. Then the binge happened. Now I’m week to week as you are. It’s painful. Sooooo painful. Tohru booking it in the last episode was hilarious but darn the cliffhanger!! Also manga is a fun rabbit hole to fall down into ;). Sailor Moon is amazing as well! Full Metal Alchemist is another favorite. Not a romance, but the story is chef’s kiss amazing!

The best part is now there's a sequel series to fruits basket too! Its called Fruits Basket Another. Also omg wotakoi is hilarious you're 100% gonna love it cracks me up. It's not so much of a plot as it is a bunch of vignettes on their life, has Yotsuba vibes (which u should also read for hilarious wholesomeness)
