2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my
family.

I am so so sorry for your heartbreak and the staggering loss of your best friend , wife and the mother of your beautiful babies. Being in the UK, I’m always astounded that your insurance companies decide if you can have meds or not, surely your doctors need to be the ones whom have the last say. Sending prayers and positive vibes.

Oh, the ins. companies decide on way more than meds; they have denied people necessary tests, procedures, surgeries with their obstruction directly leading to death.

I think it's because of the new laws regarding pain medications, I've had this dilemma myself several times. In Jenny's case the Dr may do best prescribing 4 or 5 per day as needed even if Jenny shouldent need them she will have them on hand. In PA you can't get a refill before 29 days of the date the prescription was written. Good luck sweet Jenny, you always make my heart smile watching how loving and giving you are to your beautiful family, Kyle is a gem as well. Bless you all...I keep you in my prayers🩷. xx

If writing cards for the children's future b,days is upsetting you I really think you would be best to leave it for now. It isn't obligatory and you can always just rely on videos instead. I can't imagine how it is to have stage 4 cancer, but I know that you are extremely brave and genuine. You amaze me every time I watch your videos. I have Fibromyalgia and need a cane to walk because I have trouble walking and struggle to go through days when the pain is too much to handle but still have to go to work and cook dinner. But I keep smiling when I'm at work and greeting coworkers and I think that keeping a smile makes me feel better. I love seeing you smile, you are beautiful and strong, sooooo strong ! Hi Jenny! I’m a pharmacist and wanted to comment about filling your pain meds. The reason your insurance might not want to fill your pain meds, even when they are due, is because of the total mg of morphine equivalents you are getting daily. Prescription Insurance puts restrictions on it, but if your doctor calls insurance and gets a prior authorization (PA) then it can be overrode. The PA will be good for a specific pharmacy and for a specific medication and usually last 1 year. Hope that helps. Thank you for sharing your journey. My best friend fought stage 4 non-smoker lung cancer at age 43 with two young children as well, so your story hits close to home. Many prayers for you and your family.

Jenny that quilt is a loving hug. Just priceless. You need to self care to be the loving Mom and wife you are. Suggest you ask your Doctor to reference 1 to 4 daily which might stop that from happening. Pain medication is a hot topic with insurance companies. They can send a note to them to help on your file with maximum 120 a month. Your lungs are probably changing position being more relaxed. If the pain is radiating upwards it might be a hernia against your diaphragm which can happen. It could also be muscular again with them changing for the better. It's worth asking... Narrow it down. Shame you don't have a mattress that elevates like hospital bed. Broken sleep is so difficult. I used rosemary mint oil massaging in scalp weekly before shower and argan oil lightly while damp. It has reduced loss for me. I also changed to an argan shampoo. Any style would look great on you.❤

Dear Jenny,I would think if your skin is dry it’s understandable that your nails are too. I can recommend rubbing olive oil on your nails,it’s really good ,maybe a couple of times a day to start with then once a day.I’m not sure how it would work with your polish,maybe the polish remover is also drying them out,it does mine. My dad survived cancer for two decades until he died of non-cancer-related causes. No doctor would have guessed it and every scan he had was nerve-racking for us all, but obviously miracles do happen. Sending you hugs and strength and love to your family. The dr needs to give you more than one pill a day. If they prescribe two a day then you may have extra. But with cancer, I would think they would prescribe you more than one a day. You are in too much pain to not have what you need. So please ask your Dr. for more pain meds. Love ya! Keep up the fight. 💜💜💜

Hey warrior. I am hoping to explain a few things for you as I am a nurse. Whether in o.r. icu or receiving oxygen at home or hospital one nail must not have polish on no matter color. Always protocol to be sure of accuracy of number. As far as pain meds that are opioids prescriptions can only be filled every 30 days. In n.y. a patient must see Dr every month in office to obtain script n periodic drug testing. These are new regulations due to drug abuse. Not by patients who need meds but by those who do not. Wrong people are inconvenienced. My advice is to get script before 30 days n get it to drug store. Ask them when it can be filled. This way u don't run short. If you were to use 1 or 2 extra the druggist can't budge on refill day. It's the law not the insurance company. Also stick with one pharmacy otherwise they red flag people as though they are drug seeking n shopping around. These are the times we live in. I hope that helps a bit. Keep up the good work. I pray for you also.

Learn from me please. Someone who is permantly confined to a wheelchair is will probably not have their pain increased by sitting a few more minutes. Do not give up the quality of your families' life for politeness 🙏 please 🙏 please. You are important to. I let a cancer driver dropped me at the bottom of long driveway because I kept them waiting after my radiation. The staff insisted a doctor checked my burns which had gotten so bad deep. So I ended up on the ground for 3 hours before found and back at the hospital for blood transfusions. I should have said no but I felt bad making 3 men sit10 extra min an a/c car. Don't be me.

Hi you could always ask how much the cash payment is and pay cash for your prescription if it's too soon. I suggest call your insurance and ask them how many pills they will cover for how many days.

Hey Jenny! I am not sure if you will read this, but a little insight in pain meds to help you understand why it can be a hassle…first off, if it’s a control medication (II-V) there are rules and regulations on how often you can get them refilled or filled again…second, if you have a control II medication, that is even more regulated than all of the controls. So, if you are given for example a control II medication, with a qty of 30 and the max you can take is 4 times a day (keeping it simple with 1 tablet each time) that means your prescription can get a new fill in 8 days. So as long as you are taking it the most you can a day, you should not run out before those 8 days. Due to the opioid epidemic, it is tough to fill any control early hence why your insurance will reject it from the pharmacy. Now there are some pharmacies that will fill your control 2 days earlier (so day 6) but that is dependent on the supply they have and the pharmacist who is putting their license on it. In a time where everyone is sue happy, it can be tricky to just bypass an early fill…it sucks more than any thing that people who need it get stuck in this crazy situation but unfortunately there is a reason why and it is not to be mean…I hope that clears up a little misconception.

If you are using lots of your as needed pain meds, they will usually up your daily dose so you don’t need to use so much as needed, your pain team should sort this out for you. You are looking great btw, I hope you are feeling better too.

You sometimes need a night for yourself to paint your nails, take a bath or shower and relax in the peace and quiet. It shows you're taking care of yourself and that you care about yourself 💋❤😊 Love you and your family so much. Lots of prayers always 🙏🙏🙏😍.

The insurance company bases the refill date on the amount of days supply that is on your script. That of course is based on how your doctor writes the script. As you know this pain medication thing is quite the journey. You should never ever be concerned about running out if you are taking them as prescribed and I am sure you are. I live in Georgia and there is always a chance things are different in California but I don’t think so. I enjoy your videos and you are truly an inspiration to many. I know you have scary times and those times I am sure are unbearable but you handle this cancer journey with such Grace. Sending my thoughts and prayers to you and your beautiful family.

Been there with the *early refill of pain medication*, as well. Although I do not have a cancer diagnosis (like my brother when he was in his Stage 4 diagnosis in 2010), I have asked for a change in my medication and have been refused. So, basically, I suffer almost EVERY month, until my refill is allowed until my health insurance and the doctor makes some small changes. Some hospital doctors will prescribe me a different milligram of the same type of medication ( to get around the ridiculous laws, so I get a small script…literally two/ three days worth so I don’t run out). Unfortunately, most of the time I get a Physician’s Assistant in the ER, who refuses to prescribe any medications whatsoever, and I suffer needlessly. Chronic pain syndrome , is just that, chronic pain, and doesn’t stop, until I am no longer alive. If it is not a terminal disease, they could care less. Sad. But true. A cancer patient should never feel that way…ever.❤
